We waited to see who the goalies were tonight and we do get Quick for the Rangers. Normally I would want no part of Quick and just maybe bet the game OVER. However, this is going to be a HUGE game for the Rangers. Quick told the media after the morning skate that tonight’s game will be his final NHL game, That is a lot of incentive for the Rangers. We have a couple of things in New York’s favor. One, the Panthers are a decimated group with at last count 14 players on the injured list. Almost every star for the Panthers will not play tonight. So it gives the Rangers a big chance. Two, this is not the last game for Florida at home and that helps NY as well in this spot. Since Quick has been announced it is strange that the line has dropped from 165 about an hour ago to 146 at the time of this writing. Lots to like for the Rangers

The Sharks weren't going to make the playoffs anyway but their recent loss to lowly Vancouver all but ensured that. They're all but mathematically eliminated now. (They'd need to 3-0 their final three games and get a lot of help.) The Predators chances aren't great but they are much better off than San Jose. The Preds are one point behind the Kings for the second wild card in the West with two games remaining. (The Kings have played one fewer game.) Off a gritty 2-1 win over a tough Minnesota team, the Preds will be happy to see the Sharks. Not only are the Sharks struggling but the Preds are a perfect 10-0 the past 10 h2h meetings. Carolina is definitely not playing with its back up against the wall. But, the Hurricanes are still a top team in the NHL even when it's not playing its best. Philadelphia holds the advantage on both Columbus & Washington, leading with a game in hand. But, things can get a bit iffy with a loss tonight.
