NBA Player Props Best Bet #1: Max Strus (CLE) Over 9.5 Points (+102)

The Cavaliers took care of business in their Game 1 matchup against the Raptors on Saturday 126-113 with help from Max Strus off the bench scoring 24 points on 8-10 shooting from the field.

We’re going to take the Cavaliers small forward to get over 9.5 points tonight as Cleveland will look to go up 2-0 in the series.

Strus has become the main scoring threat off the bench for Cleveland notching 24 minutes last game as we should see him around that mark again tonight.

He averaged 14.3 points per game in six regular season home games compared to just 8 points per game in six road games missing most of the regular season due to injury.

In last year’s post season Strus played nine games while averaging 11.7 points per game while averaging 7-8 three-point attempts per game.

He went 4-6 from down town in Game 1 and we should see a healthy dose of three-point attempts again from Strus tonight averaging seven per game during the regular season.

With the Cavaliers 6th man displaying solid home metrics in his shortened season and the team’s second leading scorer in Game 1, let’s take Strus to notch double-digit scoring once again going over 9.5 points in Game 2 for near even money.

NBA Player Props Best Bet #2: Ayo Dosunmu (MIN) Over 12.5 Points (-102)

Ayo Dosunmu has certainly carved out a nice role for himself on the Timberwolves since being traded from Chicago before the deadline.

He saw high usage when Anthony Edwards was banged up near the end of the regular season and is still scoring at a solid rate with Edwards back including Game 1 where he put up 14 points on 5-10 shooting.

We’re going to take Dosunmu to go over 12.5 points averaging 17.8 points in his last five regular season games on 49% shooting.

Aside from Naz Reid the Timberwolves don’t have much scoring off the bench and if they want to avoid a 0-2 deficit they’re going to need the same kind of scoring production from Dosunmu going over 12.5 points in 11 of his last 12 games overall dating back over a month ago.

For what it’s worth, Anthony Edwards is listed as questionable again tonight and if he’s limited in any way then Dosunmu’s usage would increase once again.

Look for the Minnesota backup guard to be a scoring threat off the bench once again tonight going over 12.5 points in Timberwolves vs Nuggets Game 2.
