Mavericks vs Warriors Analysis
The Golden State Warriors look to advance to the NBA Finals as they play Game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks.
The Mavericks hope to be the first team to ever comeback from down 3-0 in a playoff series. The Warriors prevailed in Game 3 by the final score of 109-100, led by 31 points by Steph Curry.
Luka Doncic scored 40 points but it wasn’t enough, as they need more production from the supporting cast in order to win a game in this series. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 PM EST/ 6:00 PST.
Warriors Bring Brooms To Dallas
The Golden State Warriors are on the verge of advancing to another NBA Finals appearance. They needed an amazing comeback in Game 3 but cruised to an easy victory in Game 4.
They were led by a 31 point 11 assist double double. Andrew Wiggins had a double double of his own with 27 points and 11 rebounds.
Wiggins has been incredible in this series, scoring points at will and more importantly making Luka Doncic work at both ends of the court. Golden State has shot well, hitting 49.3% of their shots from the field.
The Warriors will be without the services of Otto Porter Jr as he will be out with a foot injury. If the Warriors can advance tonight, they will have a tremendous rest of over whichever bruised and battered team comes out of the East in what seems destined to be a seven game series.
Mavericks Could Make History
The Dallas Mavericks have ridden Luka Doncic all season, if they want to play Game 5 they will need a similar effort along with some production from the supporting cast. In Game 3 Doncic led his team in points with 40 and rebounds with 11.
Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 26 points off the bench and Jalen Brunson added 20 points. During the regular season the Mavs took 3 of 4 games from the Warriors but haven’t had anywhere close to those results in the post-season.
Dallas has a tremendous opportunity to become the first team to ever comeback from down 3-0 in a playoff series. However, they need to avoid the sweep tonight as an all important first step.
Mavericks vs Warriors Prediction
The Dallas Mavericks enter this elimination game as a minimal one point favorite with a total of 215.5. It seems like the Warriors have the Mavs number so I lean in their direction with what amounts to be a pick’em game.
However we will surely get the Mavs best effort tonight and you know the league wants this series to continue. These teams have both trended towards the under all season as Dallas is 59-37-2 in hitting the under, as Golden State is 51-43-2.
The Mavs play at the slowest pace in the league, while the Warriors are 14th. In seven head-to-head meetings including the post-season four games have went under the total.
The Mavericks really have ratcheted up the defense at home in the post-season. They stayed under the total in all three home games against Utah, all three home games against Phoenix and again at home in Game 3 against the Warriors.
That’s right, all seven Dallas post-season home games have stayed under this total. Give me the under.
