Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings Predictions

The 13-18 Sacramento Kings head over to the Chase Center to battle the 24-6 Golden State Warriors. Both teams will be short handed as they were in their prior game. The Kings will be playing the second game of a back-to-back after a 121-114 home victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Warriors will be looking to avoid losing two straight games for the first time this season after losing in Toronto to Raptors by a score of 119-100. This will be the second of four meetings between the West Coast rivals, Golden State won the first in Sacramento by a score of 119-107.

The Golden State Warriors have won 14 of their first 16 homes games and are locked in a virtual tie with the Phoenix Suns for best record in the NBA. The Warriors opted to rest their entire starting lineup in Saturday nights loss to the Raptors.

First round draft pick Johnathan Kuminga shined in his first career start, going 9 for 15 from the field and scoring a game high 26 points. Kuminga showed great athleticism and improved shooting. It remains to be seen if we see more of him with Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole again out tonight. The Warriors are a top 5 team in almost any statistical category you can find, but really shine on defense as they are the #1 rated defense only allowing 101.1 points a game.

The Kings were able to hang on for a win against the Spurs last night to spite being without several key players who were in Covid protocol. They rushed out to a 10 point lead in the first quarter and were able to hold off the Spurs for the remainder of the game. Sacramento won the game with three point shooting, as they went 14 for 25 from beyond the arc for a 51% shooting percentage.

Tonight the Kings will once again be without De’Aaron Fox, Richaun Holmes, Davion Mitchell and Alex Len. Defense is a major problem for this Kings team as they rank second to last in the league in defensive rating. They aren’t generating turnovers and allow opponents to shoot over 49% from the field. The issue tonight could be their poor perimeter defense that ranks in the bottom third of the league.

The Golden State Warriors are huge favorites of 12.5 points with a total set at 221.5. The Kings are 14-17 against the spread this season, while the Warriors are 18-10-2 ATS. The Kings are a game over .500 for over/under ATS, while the Warriors are an amazing 9-20-1.

However the Warriors will be without two key defenders in Wiggins and Poole. The Kings play at the 5th fastest pace in the league, while the Warriors are 10th. The Warriors defense has been amazing, but with all the missing players I will be riding with the over here. Obviously the Warriors will ultimately win against a short handed Kings squad, but a I fear a backdoor cover on a huge spread.

My favorite play in the game is actually a player prop. I’m expecting Draymond Green to be more aggressive offensively with Wiggins and Poole out. That leaves 30-35 shots up for grabs and Curry can’t take them all. The Kings allow the most points in the paint which will give Green easy scoring opportunities. Green’s Pts+Rebs+Asts number is 25.5 and he’s went over that in two of his last 3 games. I strongly recommend an over PRA bet for Draymond Green tonight.

Official Play: OVER 221.5
Official Player Prop: Draymond Green Over 25.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
