The Los Angeles Lakers travel to the United Center for the second game of a home/at home against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday evening.
The Bulls prevailed 118-108 in Los Angeles against the Lakers on Sunday night. This is the second and final game in a regular season series that Chicago leads 1-0. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM/5:00 PST.
Revenge Spot For Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Lakers fell a game below .500 at 37-38 after losing to Chicago on Sunday. Turnovers killed the Lakers as they lost that battle 18-9.
Lebron James led his team in scoring with 19 points off the bench on 6-11 from the field. Anthony Davis added 15 points and 9 rebounds while Tony Brown Jr chipped in with 18 points and 6 rebounds.
The Lakers currently occupy the 9th seed in the Western Conference, only a half game from missing the play-in tournament altogether. Los Angeles is the 10th ranked scoring team with an average of 116.4 points a game on 47.9% from the floor.
They sit at 13th in defensive rating but 21st in defensive scoring with 116.7 points allowed per game. Lebron James (foot) is listed as questionable for this game while Anthony Davis (foot) and D’Angelo Russell (hip) are both probable.
Bullish on the Postseason
The Chicago Bulls improved to 36-39 on the season after beating the Lakers over the weekend. The Bulls dominated in transition with a 15-5 edge in fast break points.
Zach Lavine led all scorers with 32 points on 13-19 shooting. Demar Derozan recorded a 17 point, 10 assist double-double while Andre Drummond added 12 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.
The Bulls currently occupy the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference, 2.5 game away from missing the play-in tournament altogether. The Bulls rank 20th in scoring with only 113.4 points a game on 49.1% from the field.
Defense is their calling card as they sit at 6th in defensive rating and 8th in defensive scoring with only 112.4 points allowed per game. Alex Caruso (foot) and Javonte Green (knee) are both considered to be questionable for this game.

The Los Angeles Lakers enter this contest as 2.5 point road favorites with a total set at 227.5. Both teams need this one to keep their heads above water in the standings entering the post-season.
The Bulls have been an under team for a good portion of the season but have fallen short of the total in 5 of their last 6 against the Western Conference and 6 of their last 7 against the Lakers.
Lebron James returning to the court could easily destroy all the good work Los Angeles has done on the defensive end since the All-Star break.
James return should also increase the pace of a team that already ranks 5th in pace of play. The Lakers have played to the over with a 20-16 O/U record on the season.
These teams combined for only 226 points on Sunday and we usually see the opposite result in back-to-backs, give me the over!!
