Best NBA Prop Pick #1: Zion Williamson (NO) Over 24.5 points (-102 FD)
Two of the NBA’s worst teams go at it in Indiana tonight as the Pelicans take on the Pacers. Although these two teams overall aren’t good we should see a battle at power forward tonight as Zion Williamson goes head-to-head with Pascal Siakam.
We’re going to take Williamson over 24.5 points tonight with the Pacers giving up the most points per game to power forwards over the last 15 days and the fifth most on the season.
Williamson is off a 25 point performance where he went 11-14 from the field in a 116-113 home win against the Nets on Wednesday.
Each of Williamson’s minutes per game and field goal percentage have gone up month over month from December to January averaging 25.9 minutes per game and 60% from the field last month compared to 30.5 minutes per game and 63.6% from the field in January.
In their first head-to-head meeting this season in New Orleans, Williamson scored 29 points on 9-14 from the field.
The Pacers give up the fifth most points in the paint per game which is where Williamson does most of his damage so let’s take him to go over 24.5 points tonight against the Pacers.
Best NBA Prop Pick #2: DeMar DeRozan (SAC) Over 20.5 points (-102 FD)
Don’t look now but the Kings are starting to roll with three straight outright double digit wins over the Rockets, Lakers and Knicks as they now welcome the Wizards into the Golden 1 Center on Friday.
DeMar DeRozan has been a great part of that success averaging 27 ppg in those three games and 21.9 ppg in eight January games played.
We’ll take DeRozan to go over 20.5 points tonight with the Wizards giving up the fifth most ppg to small forwards on the season.
DeRozan isn’t a small forward by nature but with the shuffling of the starting lineup the Kings have had to do, that’s where he stands with Russell Westbrook and Zach Lavine taking on the starting point guard and shooting guard positions respectively.
The Wizards come in ranking 29th in defensive efficiency for the season and although these two teams haven’t faced each other yet this season, DeRozan has averaged 26.7 ppg in his last three games against Washington.
It is worth noting that Domantas Sabonis could be cleared to play Friday for the first time in two months but our guess is that he may be eased into the lineup with a minutes restriction at best.
Take DeRozan to keep his hot shooting touch tonight going over 20.5 points at home against the lowly Wizards.
