The Cavs went 44-38 last season but were ultimately ousted in the Play-In Tournament as they lost games to the Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks. The Cavs had outstanding campaigns from their young core of Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen and will need big contributions from them if they are to take the next step in the NBA Eastern Conference.

Cleveland Cavaliers Season Preview : Win Total – A Brave Pursuit of 50 Wins?

The Cleveland Cavaliers kick off their season in Toronto against the Raptors on Wednesday, October 19th. The Cavs built a strong foundation in Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen last year. They made an impressive playoff run after winning 44 regular games, however their lack of offensive production proved to be their Achilles heel.

Three-time All-Star Donovan Mitchell is the solution to that problem as he has the ability to fill up the stat sheet on any given night. The 26 year-old “Spida” Mitchell is one of the most prolific scorers in the league. He does play lackluster defense but that will be mitigated by the presence of defenders like Allen and Mobley, similar to the situation in Utah with Rudy Gobert.

This young roster will continue to improve and they have four legitimate All-Star candidates. The Cavs won 44 games last season despite a sputtering offense that will be drastically improved by the addition of Mitchell. This could be a 50-win team if they remain healthy, and with the win total currently set at 47.5 at DraftKings, we don’t even need them to reach that 50-win mark for this bet to cash.

Recommendation: Cleveland Cavaliers OVER 47.5 Wins (-125 at DraftKings)
