Dana White’s Contender Series Week 8 Predictions
Rashid Vagabov -525 vs Paulo Da Silva +410
Rashid Vagabov will lean heavily on his grappling, constantly looking for takedowns and submissions. Paulo Da Silva has solid striking and will need to use it to keep Vagabov at bay, but he stands tall in exchanges and has shown a tendency to get taken down.
If the fight hits the mat, Vagabov has a clear advantage and should be able to control or finish from top position.
Da Silva’s only realistic path is to land a knockout while keeping the fight standing. With both fighters carrying finishing upside, this matchup is unlikely to go the distance.
Kurtis Campbell -375 vs Demba Seck +310
This matchup sets up well for Kurtis Campbell, who brings a relentless wrestling attack and a slick ground game.
His transitions are smooth, and once he establishes control, he does an excellent job of maintaining dominant positions.
Demba Seck is primarily a striker, but when he’s tried to wrestle, he’s shown nowhere near the level of skill Campbell has on the mat.
Seck will throw big, wild punches early, but Campbell should be able to avoid the danger, secure an early takedown, and take advantage of openings on the ground. Campbell by finish is the play.
Eliezer Kubanza -265 vs Christopher Alvidrez +225
This fight isn’t likely to go long, and the best angle may be the total. Both Kubanza and Alvidrez are dangerous strikers with knockout power, making “not to start Round 3” an appealing bet.
Kubanza is an explosive finisher with huge power, but his cardio is a concern, and he could either score an early KO or fade badly by the second round.
Alvidrez brings a more diverse striking game, with patience and composure that could expose Kubanza if he comes out too aggressive or suffers an adrenaline dump. Alvidrez is a live underdog, but the best play here is on the unders.
Louis Jourdain -145 vs Magno Dias +125
Louis Jourdain showed real toughness in his last fight, battling through early struggles before rallying to score the finish.
He displayed solid defense, patience, and striking, and he’ll carry a significant height and reach advantage in this matchup.
Magno Dias is harder to read with limited tape, but he’s shown a solid ground game against weaker competition, has good submissions, and represents the respected Fighting Nerds gym.
This should be a competitive fight, but Jourdain’s length and striking volume should help him keep the fight standing. If he avoids the takedowns, Jourdain gets the win.
Dana White’s Contender Series Event: Vitor Costa vs Damian Pinas
This fight has chaos written all over it, and the best way to attack it is the total. Both Pinas and Costa are powerful strikers with major defensive holes, making under 1.5 rounds at -190 a strong play.
Pinas has shown he can be taken down easily, but he’s also flashed sharp reversals, strong defense once settled, and impressive stamina in a wild fight where his opponent gassed and he rallied for the finish.
Costa brings quicker footwork, light movement, and good side-to-side agility, which could give him the slight edge. Still, this isn’t a fight to bet the moneyline — the unders are the way to go, and that’s where the value is.
