Matt Olson has hit home runs in back-to-back games on three different occasions this season and he could do it for a fourth time as Dinelson Lame takes the mound for the Rockies tonight in Atlanta.
The Colorado righty actually lowered his ERA from 12.42 to 10.38 in his last start against San Diego but overall has been bad this season nonetheless.
He allows left-handed hitters to bat .400 off him with a 1.195 OPS as Olson heads in with a .247 batting average against righties and a .945 OPS which is 8th among all MLB batters against righties. Olson’s home run last night was only his second of the month as he hit nine in May and eight in April.
All three home runs Lamet has given up this season have been to left-handed batters so look for Olson at +240 to hit a home run tonight with other batters to consider include Eddie Rosario (+480) and Michael Harris II (+630).
Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Teoscar Hernandez (+390)
Michael Kopech takes the mound for the White Sox tonight as they continue their west coast trip in Seattle tonight.
The righty has been getting it together allowing no earned runs in three of his last five starts but those three starts were against the Marlins, Guardians and Royals who all rank near the bottom in various offensive categories in the MLB.
Teoscar Hernandez has also been getting it together this month batting .350 with a 1.022 OPS in June. He’s also lowered his strikeout rate vastly so we have confidence he’s been seeing the ball better.
Kopech has allowed 10 home runs to right-handed batters which is tied for 5th most among all MLB pitchers. Kopech has struggled against other AL West opponents this season as well giving up six earned runs in nine innings to both the Angels and Astros, both of which were at home.
With Kopech pitching worse on the road this season so far, take Hernandez to hit a home run tonight at +390 with other Mariners hitters to consider for a home run include Eugenio Suarez (+390) and Cal Raleigh (+420).
