So far on the season the Athletics look to be having an easier time winning on the road going 14-14 away from Sacramento and just 9-19 when they play at “home”.

They’ll continue their road trip in Toronto tonight taking on Jose Berrios and the Blue Jays. Typically, Berrios is known for being a great pitcher at home, but it’s been the opposite so far this season sporting a 5.19 ERA at the Rogers Centre and a 3.07 ERA in road starts.

We’re going to take a shot at Lawrence Butler to hit a home run tonight for the Athletics who has seven of his eight home runs against righties while slugging .488 compared to slugging just .292 against lefties.

Sure, Lawrence captured the Golden Sombrero yesterday at Houston but going into that game he had a nine game hitting streak which included two home runs, a triple and six doubles.

Butler had a successful trip to the Rogers Centre last season and while he didn’t hit a home run he did go 5-13 with two doubles.

Butler is 2-6 with a home run all time against Berrios so let’s take him at +440 odds to do it today with other Athletics batters to consider for a home run being Brent Rooker (+350) and Shea Langeliers (+430).

MLB HR Props Best Bet of the Day #2: James Wood (WSH) +440

In case you haven’t noticed James Wood has been breaking out this season as a star player for the Nationals and he’s been on fire as of late.

He has hit a home run in back-to-back games in Seattle and three of his last four games in general and we’ll look for him to do it tonight with the Mariners sending Emerson Hancock to the mound.

These two have never faced off in their careers, but Hancock has been getting torched as of late with five home runs combined allowed in his last three starts while sporting a 12.34 home ERA this season.

Hancock has allowed eight home runs this season with one coming every 14 at bats against lefties and one coming every 31 at-bats against righties.

Wood is a lefty batter and has hit 10 of his 15 total home runs against righties on the season while sporting a .590 slugging percentage. It’s also worth noting in night games he’s batting .333 with a .693 slugging percentage.

Considering how hot Wood is as of late, we get solid +440 odds for him to hit a home run again tonight with other Nationals hitters to look at for a home run include CJ Abrams and Nathaniel Lowe (+480).
