MLB Home Run Prop Best Bet of the Day #1: Ryan O’Hearn (PIT) +630

If we can get home run prop odds at +630 for a player who has hit three home runs in their last five games we’ll take it which is what we’re getting tonight in Ryan O’Hearn as the Pirates and Astros open up their series in Houston.

O’Hearn returned from a strained right quad which kept him out for two weeks and he wasted no time picking up where he left off going 2-4 with a home run in Sunday’s 9-3 win over the Twins.

Houston sends righty Mike Burrows to the mound who is tied for the fourth most home runs given up this season at 13 including five combined across his last three starts.

He has been especially vulnerable against left handed bats this season allowing a .324 average and .590 slugging percentage compared to a .232 average and .366 slugging percentage against righties.

Burrows sports a 6.92 home ERA compared to a 4.34 road ERA with O’Hearn slugging .517 against right handed pitchers on the season.

The Pirates outfielder sits just eight home runs away from 100 for his career and it’s worth mentioning the Astros bullpen is tied for second in most home runs given up this season of any bullpen unit.

With that take O’Hearn to hit his home run prop at +630 with other Pittsburgh left handed bats to look at for a home run tonight include Brandon Lowe (+330) and Oneil Cruz (+470).

MLB Home Run Prop Best Bet of the Day #2: Tyler Soderstrom (ATH) +410

Speaking of pitchers who give up tons of home runs, Jameson Taillon starts for the Cubs tonight who has given up a league high 19 home runs entering tonight.

We have our pickings of Athletics batters to hit a home run as they’ve hit the fifth most in the league this season, but we’ll look specifically at Tyler Soderstrom to hit his home run prop.

Soderstrom had a .455 slugging percentage in May but caught fire near the end of the month batting .571 and slugging 1.143 over the last week of games.

Taillon has been beat up by left handed bats this season allowing 11 of his 19 total home runs to them while allowing a .584 slugging percentage compared to a .471 slugging percentage allowed to righties.

Taillon has allowed nine total home runs across his last three starts (14.2 IP) with the Cubs bullpen giving up the tenth most home runs of any bullpen in the MLB this season. The Athletics outfielder belted 25 home runs last season and has some work to do to reach that this season.

Take Soderstrom at +410 to hit his home run prop tonight with other Athletics batters to look at for a home run include Shea Langeliers (+390) and a long shot in Jeff McNeil (+1200) who both have hit home runs off Taillon in their respective careers.
