Justin Turner (TOR) +480
Justin Turner has been the left-handed pitcher killer for the Blue Jays, and today, he faces a lefty he has great history against. Turner is batting .407 against left-handed pitching, and one of his three homers has come off a lefty. Turner is 3-5 in his career off of Tyler Alexander with two home runs and a double, and we expect him to hit the long ball again, making this one of the best home run prop bets on the board.
This season, Tyler Alexander has allowed nine home runs, which is tied for the third most in the MLB. The Rays bullpen has allowed 27 home runs, the most in the Majors. Alexander has allowed seven of his nine home runs to righties. Turner has an average exit velocity of 100.5 miles per hour and an average launch angle of 21 degrees.
Shohei Ohtani (LAD) +270
Shohei Ohtani’s numbers this season are absurd, and anytime he is in a matchup that suits him, he is worth backing. Ohtani has not hit a home run in his last two games, so he’s essentially due. During the season, Ohtani has 12 home runs, and seven of the 12 have come at Dodgers Stadium. Nine of his 12 home runs have come against right-handed pitching, and he is facing a righty starter he is familiar with. Lastly, the Reds bullpen has allowed the 8th most home runs this season, making this one of the best home run prop bets on the board.
Frankie Montas has allowed four home runs so far this season, and lefties have three of those four home runs. Ohtani is 10-24 against Montas, with four home runs. The Reds needed to use a lot of pitchers yesterday since their starter only went .2 innings, so Ohtani will get to face a pitcher he has owned or bad relievers for the Reds. This is easily one of the best home run prop bets of the day.
