Miami Grand Prix Preview

The Miami International Autodrome is a 5.412 km (3.363 miles) semi-permanent Formula 1 circuit built around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Debuting in 2022, the track features 19 corners, three DRS zones, and a mix of long straights and tight technical sections, offering a street-style challenge with modern safety standards.

Each year, it’s constructed using a blend of existing roads and purpose-built sections, giving it a temporary, high-energy feel.

Max Verstappen has been dominant here, winning both the 2023 and 2024 races and setting the lap record. The 2025 weekend forecast calls for sunny, warm conditions on Friday and Saturday, with race day bringing a higher chance of rain and potential thunderstorms. That could add chaos to an already tricky track and make for a wild Sunday in South Florida.

***This is a Sprint race weekend. Qualifying for the Sprint race will be Friday May 2nd, with the Sprint Race and Qualifying for the Grand Prix on Saturday.

Miami Grand Prix Cars to be Classified

OVER 18.5 Cars To Be Classified -190

Last year at this race, only 1 car didn’t finish as they got really spread out and there wasn’t much danger in close quarters, and that’s just how this track sets up.

Over taking is difficult, and as long as the start is clean, I expect a follow the leader type of race for most of it.

Miami Grand Prix Winning Margin

UNDER 6 seconds -105

This play is 3-2 this season, and I think it gets to 4-2 this week. As much as the cars get spread out here, I don’t see anyone running away with this by a huge margin.

Lando won by 7.6 seconds last year with Verstappen in 2nd, but his teammate Piasatri had trouble and was back in 13th.

I expect those 3 cars to be up front this week, and throw in Russell or Leclerc to get the right set up, and I think this could be a bit close near the front, especially if the McLarren’s end up running 1-2.

Miami Grand Prix Winner Prediction

Oscar Piastri +150

McLaren has best cars right now, but Lando keeps making crucial mistakes, and Piastri doesn’t. Whether it’s qualifying or the start of the race, Lando is his own worst enemy and it’s costing him.

Piastri has been qualifying and racing clean, and if he does that again, he’ll qualify up front, he’ll get a good start and if Lando makes just one of his bad mistakes, Piastri will be the benefactor.

Piastri at plus money is a play every week, if you want to you can grab Piastri and Norris at plus money, and if the McLaren’s win you get a small profit.
