Super middleweight contender Edgar Berlanga takes on tough Padraig McCrory this weekend down in Orlando, Florida as the undefeated Puerto Rican fighter aims to become a serious force in the 168lb division moving forward.

However, Berlanga’s tepid performance against Jason Quigley last summer led many to believe he simply doesn’t have what it takes to compete at that level, and if he goes on to lay another egg this weekend against an unheralded fighter in McCrory, that Canelo train might completely derail for Berlanga and leave him stuck firmly in the wilderness in the super middleweight division.

Padraig McCrory is a sharp counterpuncher who employs a terrific straight right hand in fights, but one who nevertheless shouldn’t have the necessary power to seriously trouble Berlanga in this fight.
