Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #1: Mickey Moniak (COL) +265

The Rockies host the Reds to open up their second half of the MLB season with a juicy pitching matchup ahead of them. Righty Brady Singer takes the mound for Cincinnati having given up 20 home runs on the season including 14 to left handed hitters.

With that we’re going to take lefty Mickey Moniak to hit his home run props tonight with Singer giving up 14 of his 20 home runs to left handed hitters.

Singer has allowed ten of his 20 total home runs on the road this season while sporting a 6.75 ERA compared to a 2.98 ERA at home.

Moniak has been excellent at home vs right handed hitting this season batting .296 and slugging .627 against right handed pitchers while also batting .314 and slugging .720 in home games.

Moniak didn’t close out the first half strong but it was six straight road games for Colorado and still batting .361 and slugging .639 in July so far.

In Singer’s last road start he gave up two home runs in just 4.1 innings at Pittsburgh so let’s go with Moniak to hit his 16th home run of the season tonight at +265 with other Rockies players to consider for a home run includes Hunter Goodman (+220) and TJ Rumfield (+520).

Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Curtis Mead (WSH) +440

After three seasons meandering between the Rays and White Sox Curtis Mead has finally found his footing in Washington already blasting 17 home runs in 80 games as Washington heads to Sacramento to take on the Athletics.

Lefty Gage Jump gets the start for the Athletics allowing just four home runs in 48.2 innings on the season but problem is all four of those home runs have come at home in 24.2 innings while sporting a 6.20 ERA compared to a 0.75 ERA during road starts.

We’ll take Mead to cash his home run props tonight closing out the first half with back-to-back games with a home run. He has hit .400 to go along with a .771 slugging percentage in July and although just seven of his 17 home runs have come against lefties he’s slugging .527 against them this season compared to a .483 slugging percentage against righties.

Three of the four home runs Gage has given up this season have come against right handed batters with the Athletics starter allowing two of those home runs in just three innings during his last road start against Miami.

We get excellent odds of +440 for Mead to hit a home run tonight with other Washington batters to look at for a home run prop includes James Wood (+285) and Dylan Crews (+460).
