UFC Fight Night Undercard Predictions

Mingyang Zhang (-235) vs Alonzo Menifield (+180)

-great bounceback spot for Zhang who lost last fight where  he couldn’t defend leg kicks, and it cost him. He’s KO’s  all 3 previous UFC opponents, but very low level of  competition

-Menifield has 2 shaky wins his last 5 fights, the other 3 fights he’s been knocked out. He tries to clinch up  against the fence, cardio is getting worse, striking isn’t  good at range, he’s past his prime

-Zhang’s power is too much, he gets the win

Sergei Pavlovich (-530) vs Tallison Teixeira (+380)

-Pavlovich has won 2 decisions in a row, that’s new for him  as he’s been a KO guy for his career. Bit more patient and measured these days on the feet

-Teixeira showed wrestling and takedowns in his last fight,  but wrestling Tai Tuivasa is not hard

-Teixeira doesn’t seem to have the striking at this level,  the best guy he’s fought knocked him out in 35 seconds.  He’s long, but not a sophisticated game plan, not a great  boxer

-price is crazy, but Pavlovich should win, maybe a solid  price on him to win by decision

Kai Asakura (-305) vs Cameron Smotherman (+240)

-UFC brings in Asakura to fight Pantoja for the title, Pantoja dominates on the ground, then Tim Elliott submitted  him after being able to take him down and submit him. So  we know that’s his weakness.

-Smotherman probably doesn’t have the ability to do what  Elliott and Pantoja did, he probably has as bad takedown defense as Asakura. Smotherman has no upside, comes from a  bad gym, hasn’t improved and on the feet Asakura should  control everything.

-last chance for Asakura to get a win, he should get the win

Jake Matthews (-320) vs Carlston Harris (+250)

-easiest pick on the card. Harris is bad. knocked out two  times in a row, should’ve lost the fight 3 fights ago as he was getting dominated, but pulled off a miracle submission,  he’s just old and slow now.

-Matthews makes mistakes, it cost him last fight in a  submission loss, but he won 3 in a row before that, if he does make a mistake Harris won’t know how to take  advantage. Matthews cruises here

Alex Perez (-143) vs Sumudaerji Sumudaerji (+115)

-I’ll take the underdog. I thought Sumuderji was done, but  he’s won 3 straight and looked decent. He’s been using his size, reach and now wrestling to get wins.

-Perez coming off shocking first round KO of Charles  Johnson, but I don’t buy it. He had the brutal knee injury against Taira, then got choked out by Almabayev, and I  didn’t think Almabayev looked great in that fight. Perez should be faster, should have good volume with strikes, but  Sumudaerji has been figuring out ways to win, he’s worth a  poke.

Luis Felipe Dias (-175) vs Yi Sak Lee (+138)

-Neither of these guys you want to be betting on. Dias  doesn’t have good cardio, doesn’t hold position well, low volume and inaccurate striking, I don’t think he has much  success in UFC after this debut

-Lee fought a bunch of nobody’s in low level promotions, moves slow, can be controlled, and striking is mediocre at  best

-this is a bad fight, I think Lee is getting this fight because of location and not his talen. Dias coming off Contender Series, UFC wants to get him a win, he’s the pick

Meng Ding (-132) vs Jose Henrique (+102)

-another fight with 2 bad fighters, both making their  debut. Ding lucky to get the win last fight when ref  stopped the fight super early, but he absorbed a lot of  damage, and that’s a problem cause he’s 31 years old and has over 40 fights. He looks slow and worn down to me,  stiff movement

-Henrique doesn’t impress, he’s not too powerful, low  voulume with striking

-this is just a bad fight, only way to bet it is to take  the underdog, but I’m not betting it.

Aoriqileng (+280) vs Cody Haddon (-360)

-Haddon is a dog, he can wrestle, clinch and strike good.  Last fight he stuffed 17 takedown attempts from UFC vet Argueta and still had the cardio to win the fight. He’s a  powerful bralwer that came from well respected Australian  promotion

-Aoriqileng coming off flash KO win on his first strike of  the match, but he lost the previous fight to a grappler,  and striker Daniel Marcos really damaged him up on the feet  so he can easily be beaten

-Haddon can win anywhere, I think he dominates here

Rei Tsuruya (-278) vs Luis Gurule (+210)

-Gurule coming off first UFC win, he comes in short notice  in a matchup I think is bad for him. He just beat Daniel Barez who isn’t great 2 weeks ago, Barez can’t wrestle like  Tsuruya can, that’s what Tsurya will do here. His only  career loss is to current Champ Josh Van, he’s relentless  with takedowns, he’ll tire out Gurule and get the win

Angela Hill (+195) vs Xiong Jingnan (-265)

-Hill is getting older, and it’s showing with cardio as she  really slows down over 3 rounds. Her striking isn’t powerful, never has been, and Xiong can push a grueling  pace with clinch, takedowns and ground and pound -Hill will keep up in round 1, and then fade in rounds 2  and 3

Kangjie Zhu (+112) vs Rodrigo Vera (-137)

-Zhu been playing with fire with close fights winning 2  straight on Road to UFC by split. His striking is ok, I like his kicks to the body, but he’s really low volume,  throws only 1 strike at a time, doesn’t do much with  takedowns, he’s just really vanilla, all his fights at this  level will be close

-Vera has good length and jabs, he can strike, good, he can  get taken down, but he’s tough on the ground, has plenty of  experience, and I don’t think Zhu can exploit anything here  as Vera will be piecing him up from distance

Loma Lookboonmee (-105) vs Jaqueline Amorim (-118)

-this fight is between 2 women who will probably be cut soon

-neither strike good, neither are great on the ground, but  I think Loma is a bit more aggrressive and can win some close exchanges in the clinch or with takedowns -gross fight to bet on, but Lookboonmee is my pick

UFC Fight Night Main Event: Song Yadong -590 vs Deiveson Figueiredo +390

-Figueirdo is way past his prime, he doesn’t have the speed  or the volume anymore, he doesn’t have a KO win since 2020.

-Yadong has lost 2 out of 3, but to title holder and title  challenger, but he’s quicker on the feet, throws more  volume, he’s going to overwhelm Figueiredo and pull away the longer the fight goes
