NBA Props for Friday: Ausar Thompson Detroit Pistons UNDER 9.5 Points (-129)

Ausar Thompson has fallen short of this line in 13 of his last 20 games (65%) overall and 9/13 games against teams ranked top 10 in points allowed in the paint while playing 31 minutes or less (avg 7.5/game).

Thompson managed to score 11 points against an Oklahoma City Thunder team that’s decimated by injuries but now he has to deal with a Cleveland Cavaliers team that has allowed the 5th fewest points in the paint, and he’s only eclipsed 31 minutes twice in his last 19 games (32 & 33).

Thompson has gone under this number in both of his head-to-head games against the Cavaliers with only 6 & 8 points while taking only 9 & 6 field goal attempts across 22 & 15 minutes of play.

The Cleveland frontcourt should be at 100% tonight with both Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley on the floor so it will be tough sledding for Thompson as a scorer. Look for the Pistons star to thrive as a defender, rebounder and facilitator in a gritty game.

NBA Props for Thursday: Derrick White Boston Celtics UNDER 16.5 Points (-108)

Jaylen Brown isn’t listed on the injury report and Derrick White has fallen short of this line in 11 of his last 20 games (avg 14.9/game) with him on the court while landing on 17 twice and 18 twice.

Now White has to contend with a Brooklyn Nets defense that ranks #1 against pick-&-roll ballhandlers where he scores 33% of his points, White has fallen short of this line in 13/15 games against teams ranked top 10 in that category with Brown on the court.

Brooklyn also ranks #3 in points allowed to opposing points guards (23.2/game) and White has gone under this number in 10/14 games against teams ranked top 10 points allowed to that position while averaging only 14.5 points per game.

White has now fallen short of this line in five straight games against the Nets with Brown on the floor including 15- and 6-point efforts this season.

This sets up as a very low scoring affair with a total of only 208.5 and we have serious blowout potential that could limit minutes with Boston being favored by -18.5.
