2025 PFL World Tournament Finals Predictions
Marcirley Alves -205 vs Justin Wetzell +170
Alves is the much better striker and has shown dramatic improvement in his last couple of fights. He carries good power, moves much faster around the cage than Wetzell, and has solid takedown defense.
Wetzell relies heavily on takedowns, but Alves’ movement will make it difficult for him to get to the hips, and even if taken down, Alves is great at getting back up and landing clean shots on the break. Over time, Alves should wear Wetzell down with his striking and come away with the win.
Liz Carmouche -310 v Jena Bishop +250
Liz Carmouche comes in as the favorite, but there are real concerns about whether age and cardio will catch up to her in this matchup.
While she’s had an impressive career, she has been slowing down, showing fatigue more quickly, and even failed to finish a low-quality opponent in her last fight.
The best fighter she’s faced in recent years was Taila Santos, and she lost that bout. Jena Bishop, meanwhile, has only lost to Santos and Ditcheva, and she may hold the cardio edge here.
With both fighters being older, Bishop’s potential advantage on the ground could become a factor as the fight wears on, especially in a five-rounder. This could be the spot for Bishop to pull the upset.
Mads Burnell -166 v Robert Watley +124
This looks like a strong underdog spot for Robert Watley. Burnell’s last outing raised serious cardio concerns, as he faded late in round one, was ineffective afterward, and ended up getting finished while spending entire rounds on his back.
Watley, on the other hand, showcased excellent conditioning in his most recent fight, securing a submission in round four.
While he was taken down multiple times, he consistently popped back to his feet, showing resilience and stamina. If Burnell can’t secure an early finish, Watley’s superior gas tank and ability to win the later rounds could be the deciding factor, making him a live dog in this matchup.
Ekaterina Shakalova -225 v Juliana Velasquez +185
This is a rematch from April, where Shakalova wasted no time getting to her game. She landed a quick single-leg takedown early in the first round, maintained dominant top control, and secured an easy submission.
It’s hard to see what could change here, as Velasquez showed no ability to defend the grappling in that fight, and there’s little reason to believe her ground game has improved significantly since.
While it might take Shakalova a bit longer this time, the most likely scenario is another dominant performance. Shakalova remains the clear and confident pick.
2025 PFL World Tournament Finals Main Event: Alfie Davis vs Ghadzi Rabadanov
This is a big mismatch, especially over five rounds. Rabadanov is the defending champion of this tournament and comes in on a run of four straight finishes.
He’s the better striker, faster on the feet, and has no clear weaknesses in this matchup. Davis has decent striking, but his defensive lapses and lack of speed in both punches and movement will severely limit his offensive output here.
