THE PLAY: Saskatchewan Roughriders +1.0 (-110)

The 1-0 Saskatchewan Roughriders take on the 0-1 Hamilton Tiger-Cats in a Sunday battle in the CFL. I understand Hamilton is the home team here, but I am still convinced the wrong team is favored in this contest. The Hamilton defence got carved up by the Calgary Stampeders in Week 1, giving up 32 points, 252 yards through the air & 114 yards on the ground; now they'll have to play a team in the Roughriders that scored 29 points, QB Trevor Harris threw for 305 yards for three touchdowns and saw at least four receivers gather twenty rec yards.

Although AJ Ouellette didn't have a strong game for the Riders, I'm high on the Riders this year because they finally have a strong running back option. Ouellette might've only had 32 yards on the ground against the Elks, but he was given 18 carries, which is something I was looking for in the Riders play-calling. I believe if AJ continues to get that workload, he will do a hell of a lot better than 1.8 yards per carry and he'll be an explosive part of the offence that constantly keeps defences guessing, opening things up for Trevor Harrison downfield.

Through just one Week 1 of action, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are the #1 rushing team in the league, following James Butler's 119-yard performance. Unfortunately for the Ti-Cats, the Roughriders are the #1 rushing defence following last week, allowing just 39 yards on the ground to the Edmonton Elks.

As far as QB match-ups, I have much more confidence in Trevor Harris and his accuracy than I do with Bo-Levi Mitchell. If Hamilton can give up 32 points to the Stampeders, I'm excited to see what the Riders will do to them.
