(603) Portland Fire at (604) Los Angeles Sparks: Spread
7:00pm EDT - Jun 7/2026

THE PLAY: Portland Fire +7.5 (-105)

Road to Football Special
Get every Oskeim Sports release from today through NFL Kickoff on August 6 for just $399. Receive every play in every sport - including all 5% Best Bets - for approximately $6 per day. Lock in nonstop action until football returns.

Portland is in the midst of a long-term rebuild, but the Fire have enough talent to remain competitive as 7.5-point underdogs on Sunday. The franchise made an excellent choice with the No. 1 expansion pick by landing Bridget Carleton, one of the league's most versatile wings and elite three-point shooters, while also adding Luisa Geiselsöder and Haley Jones from Dallas. Carleton is averaging 13.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, while making 37.5% of her attempts from beyond the arc. Carleton, alongside Megan Gustafson (10.3 ppg, 3.2 rpg), gives Portland a balanced offensive profile with five players averaging in double figures, which matters from a spread perspective by reducing reliance on any single scorer and making the underdog less vulnerable to scoring droughts. Finally, the Sparks are 6-21 SU and 2-24 ATS (7.7%) following a game in which their opponent made more than 49.2% of its field-goal attempts, provided they are not underdogs of more than +12. Taking the points offers value in a matchup that projects closer than the market implies. Take the Portland Fire plus the points as Jeff Keim’s Free Pick Winner for Sunday, June 7.

(505) San Antonio Spurs at (506) New York Knicks: Spread
8:30pm EDT - Jun 8/2026

THE PLAY: San Antonio Spurs +2.5 (-115)

San Antonio is in a strong bounce-back position heading into Game 3 despite falling behind 2-0 in the series. Entering this series, road teams that won Game 1 of the Finals were just 2-16 in Game 2, with an average scoring margin of -11.3. The Spurs were one possession away from evening the series in Game 2, losing by a single point after erasing a 14-point deficit halfway through the fourth quarter behind the backcourt duo of Dylan Harper and De’Aaron Fox. Teams facing a 2-0 deficit often bring maximum urgency in Game 3, and San Antonio has already demonstrated it can defend the Knicks effectively, holding New York to 105 points or fewer in both contests. Since 2007, NBA road teams getting fewer than four points are 1190-989-40 ATS (55%) following an upset loss as favorites. Even better, NBA playoff underdogs of +4 or less (or favorites) coming off a home loss are 240-155-5 ATS (60.8%), including 114-69-1 ATS (62.3%) since 2016, covering the spread by an average margin of 3.2 points per game. Finally, the Spurs fall into a very good 83-42-2 ATS (66.4%) bounce-back system that dates to 1992 and invests on certain postseason teams entering off an upset loss by fewer than seven points. This situation is 31-13 ATS (70.5%) since 2018, exceeding market expectations by an average of 4.0 points per game. The Spurs offer value in Game 3 as a battle-tested team desperate to avoid a virtually insurmountable 3-0 hole. Grab the points with the San Antonio Spurs as Jeff Keim’s Free Pick Winner for Monday, June 8.
