THE PLAY: Total Over 44.5 (-112)
THE PLAY: San Francisco 49ers +1.5 (-108)
The Texans offense looked abysmal in their loss to the Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Houston only scored 12 points when the O was on the field, as the other 7 was scored by the defense in a sack/fumble recovery in the end zone. They rank 23rd in EPA per play and will have a tough time against a 49ers D that looked dominant in shutting down the Falcons, and that was with a lot of 2nd team players. Christian McCarffrey is the key piece for San Francisco, as he had 129 yards on the ground and 72 more through the air against Atlanta. There’s just no way Houston can be backed right now with an O-line that can’t block and the inability to consistently move the ball downfield against strong defenses. Take the 49ers.
THE PLAY: Vanderbilt -145
The clients and I were on Vanderbilt in last week’s win over LSU, and we’re going right back to them on Saturday. For those that didn’t know already, the Commodores proved once again that they’re the real deal, entering Week 9 with a 6-1 record with their only loss coming at Alabama. Vandy had 239 yards on the ground and Diego Pavia harassed the Tigers’ defense with his legs. Their ability to pressure the quarterback was also on full display, with Garrett Nussmeier taking several hard hits all game long. Missouri relies on its rushing attack and they lean heavily on Ahmad Hardy, who was held to 58 yards on 2.4 per carry against Auburn. They were able to pick up the win in double overtime, but that was more about missed opportunities by Auburn than Mizzou. Clark Lea is a great coach and he’ll have a game plan in place to stop the rush and continue winning at home. Take Vanderbilt ML.
