THE PLAY: Jacksonville Jaguars +3.0 (-105)
Give me the Jags +3 here. I made the number 2.5. Certainly, if this line were to drop down half a point, the Jags would be an attractive teaser option. As for now, please note they are 10-4 ATS as a dog of three or more points, going back to last season. They’re also more accustomed to playing over in England. The Rams are likely going to be without WR Puka Nacua and I was not impressed with the offense last week in Baltimore after Nacua left due to injury.
THE PLAY: Arizona State +7.0 (-109)
The 7th ranked Red Raiders are not only #1 in the country in yards per play differential, but they are a perfect 6-0 straight up and against the spread. Several weeks ago, I bet them to win the Big XII. However, quarterback uncertainty seems to be working against the team from Lubbock here. Starter Behren Morton is probably not going to play.
Meanwhile, Arizona State is probably getting back their starting QB, Sam Leavitt, who missed last week’s 42-10 loss at Utah. Remember, I was on Utah in that game. But that was because the Sun Devils, clearly, were not going to be the same team without Leavitt. Also, if you’re a long-term client of mine, then you may recall last year when I bet Texas Tech against Arizona State. The Red Raiders won and covered that game, which turned out to be one of only two regular season losses for ASU, who went on to the CFP. So you’ve got the revenge angle here for Kenny Dillingham, in Tempe. Take the points.
