THE PLAY: Total Over 47.5 (-115)
Chicago has won-and-covered each of the last two meetings, with the last one being a 30-12 home win at Soldier Field. Actual progress, or just a reflection of the opponent? That is the question that Bears fans and bettors are asking this week. Was last week's 31-14 win over Dallas a sign of progress in Ben Johnson's first season with Caleb Williams, or was that just a reflection of where the Cowboys are right now? Don't forget, that was a 14-14 game at the end of the second quarter before the wheels fell off. And even without CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott still completed 31-of-40 attempts and Javonte Williams generated 7.6 yards per carry on the ground. Like we mentioned in the Washington-Atlanta preview, it was tough to extract some valuable points from the Raiders' loss last week. That game featured a number of unusual plays that prevented both teams from getting in a good rhythm. The Raiders' offense still generated 5.7 yards per play and Geno Smith was 19-of-29 for 289 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

THE PLAY: Total Over 55.0 (-110)
Kansas earned a 49-16 road win at Cincinnati in November 2023. The Jayhawks and Bearcats did not play last season. Cincinnati is coming off a bye after dispatching FCS-level Northwestern State 70-0 in the previous game. Kansas bounced back nicely from its defeat at Missouri with a 41-10 thrashing of West Virginia. The Mountaineers were on let-down alert after beating Pitt the prior week and the Jayhawks made sure those alarms were answered. If you haven't seen him play, Kansas QB Jalon Daniels is a delight to watch. Daniels has 12 touchdowns through the air and he's averaging 6.1 yards per carry on the ground. Look for this to be a back-and-forth affair between two offenses that can move the ball.

THE PLAY: UCLA +6.5 (-109)
Both teams are coming off bye weeks. UCLA is 0-3 straight-up and against the spread to open the season. Taking a look at the Bruins' remaining schedule, if they don't get a win here against the 'Cats, UCLA may be looking at a winless season. UCLA was out-gained by 124 yards at home against New Mexico. The Lobos generated 298 rushing yards on 6.5 yards per carry and held the ball for nearly 37 minutes. Prior to the bye week, Northwestern fell 34-14 at home to Oregon. Each of the Wildcats' last three games have narrowly stayed under the closing total. It's not pretty, but we're inclined to side with the Bruins getting points. Sometimes, a road trip can do wonders for a team. With head coach DeShaun Foster already dismissed, some fresh voices and a trip to the Windy City can make a difference. We're not interested in laying this many points with the Wildcats against a Big Ten opponent, no matter how bad UCLA has looked thus far.
