THE PLAY: Seattle Mariners -123 Action

My clients and I cashed an easy winner with the Mariners last night in their 13-1 blowout here in Texas. I’m expecting more of the same today. Let me start with an excerpt from yesterday’s write-up.  Numbers have been slightly edited to reflect the result of last night’s game.

“Seattle is surging – seven straight series victories; 16-5 in their last 21 games.  They swept the Rangers in Seattle, outscoring Texas 17-6 in that three game set.  Manager Dan Wilson: “We are getting the contributions from everybody…These guys continue to do all the little things and it’s really fun to see.” The Mariners lineup is clicking on all cylinders, pounding out 83 runs in their last eleven games; scoring seven or more seven times during that span.  The Mariners bullpen is fully rested and ready after a day off and a blowout. 

Texas, on the other hand, is slumping.  They’ve lost four consecutive series.  The Rangers anemic lineup has produced two runs or less eight times in their last nine games.  Corey Seager is on the IL, Marcus Semien is hitting just .184, Joc Pederson just .104. Nobody on the entire TEAM has more than 14 runs scored or 15 RBI’s through their first 33 games.” 

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy sounds like he’s run out of ideas: “We've mixed this lineup up, we've tried things, moved guys around a little bit trying to get this going. I think we've done enough of that. It's really up to them to get up there and get quality at bats right now." And even though this is an ‘action’ wager based on current form, it’s certainly worth noting that Luis Castillo beat the Rangers twice last year and has pitched well this season while Patrick Corbin has recorded only one out after the fifth inning in his four previous starts in 2025.  Short road chalk worth laying!  Take the Mariners
