Trabzonspor vs FC Copenhagen Analysis

Trabzonspor will look to use home advantage to its full effect here on Wednesday as they carry a one goal deficit into their second leg final round tie against FC Copenhagen.

The Turkish side did manage to grab a late consolation goal in that first leg however and will look to use that to book their place into a Champions League group stage for only the second time in their history.

Standing in their way however are a team in Copenhagen who absolutely dominated them for large portions of that first leg, with the Turkish side failing to even register a single shot on target before half-time, and the Danish champions will no doubt feel a little aggrieved that they’re not carrying an even greater cushion into Wednesday’s second leg.

This will be the two sides second ever meeting in European competition after last week’s 2-1 first leg result to Copenhagen.

Copenhagen Shouldn’t Be Lacking For Confidence

While Copenhagen will no doubt feel a little disappointed in granting Trabzonspor a lifeline in this one, giving up that late Anastasios Bakasetas goal last week, they’ll nevertheless still travel to Turkey on Wednesday full of confidence as they look to qualify for their first Champions League proper since the 2016-17 season.

And that confidence is well-founded as Copenhagen have averaged 2.88 goals per game across their last eight European road trips along with netting first in all five of their previous road games as well, so will no doubt feel they can get the job done here.

Trabzonspor Continue To Struggle In Europe

Despite fantastic domestic success last season, lifting their first league title in over 38 years, Trabzonspor have struggled mightily when it comes to European competition, winning just once across their last twelve continental matchups in all.

That might well be the case here again on Wednesday as Trabzonspor likely come in short of confidence after getting demolished 5-2 by Antalyaspor at the weekend over in the Super Lig.

Trabzonspor vs FC Copenhagen Prediction

It’s very difficult to back Trabzonspor at these prices, especially considering how poor they looked defensively at the weekend and their recent record in Europe also.

FC Copenhagen only need a draw to progress in this one and we expect them to get exactly that here on Wednesday as they look to grind out a result on the road in Turkey.

Take the outright Draw at +260 on Wednesday in the matchup between FC Copenhagen and Trabzonspor in the final round of Champions League qualifying.

Prediction: Draw +260
