Dinamo Zagreb vs AC Milan Betting Analysis

Bottom-of-the-group AC Milan will need a huge turnaround here on Tuesday after back-to-back defeats against Chelsea saw them slip from first to last with only two match days remaining. A victory here for the defending Serie A champions will be paramount if they’re going to make a push for qualification into the knockout round this season.

The good news for the Rossoneri is that Dinamo Zagreb sits at the bottom with them in the group, albeit with a slightly better goal difference. Milan already won the reverse fixture against Zagreb 3-1 in Italy, so the Italians will no doubt be confident of a return to form in this one.

The two sides have only faced each other three times in Europe previously, with AC Milan winning each encounter by a multiple-goal margin and scoring at least three times in each of those head-to-head meetings.

League Form vs European Form

Last season’s Serie A champions have been in absolutely blistering form domestically, both at home and on the road. AC Milan has not lost a league game away from home going all the way back to November 2021.

That’s a phenomenal run of form for the Italian giants, but not one replicated in Europe as they’ve won just one of their last five road trips on the continent. That will likely concern manager Stefano Pioli ahead of what’s expected to be a tough encounter in Zagreb on Tuesday night.

Dinamo Zagreb’s Rock-Solid Home Form

Dinamo Zagreb has turned the Stadion Maksimir into something of a fortress over recent years, with the last European team to win here being Manchester City all the way back in 2019.

That’s a solid run of form for Ante Cacic’s men, which also includes a victory over Chelsea in this year’s competition as well. If you want to splash a little bit of cold water, that was arguably a much different Chelsea team under former manager Thomas Tuchel, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the Croatian champions can continue to carve out positive results at home against the likes of AC Milan on Tuesday.

Dinamo Zagreb vs AC Milan Prediction

Only league-leaders Napoli have scored more goals in Serie A this season than AC Milan have, and last year’s champions are coming off another 4-1 blowout win over Monza over the weekend, so we’re expecting them to continue that goal-scoring run by finding the back of the net against Dinamo Zagreb this week also.

The Croatian side, however, is definitely not a team to be underestimated at home, and you have to go all the way back to the start of February this year to find the last time this team failed to find the back of the net in a game in this venue.
