The 2022-23 Premier League season will kick off on Friday, August 5 as Crystal Palace welcomes Arsenal to Selhurst Park. Manchester City captured last year’s title on the last day of the season, with Liverpool falling one point behind the Citizens.

Man City Looks to Repeat
It’s no surprise to see current champions Manchester City installed as prohibitive favorites for this year’s crown, with the acquisition of one of the world’s best strikers in Erling Haaland who comes over from Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester City is also looking to bolster their midfield area as well with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, so even at a hefty -165 pricetag, the ‘Cityzens’ look formidable favorites to repeat their success of last season and lift their fifth title in six years.
The data backs up those assertions as well with City dominating the league on expected points, expected goals and expected goals against last season. With a strengthening of their squad ahead of this year’s campaign compared with their rivals potentially getting weaker (Liverpool’s Sadio Mane transfer to Bayern Munich for example), it’s hard to see anyone knocking Manchester City off the top spot ahead of this season.
