That includes both of McCaffrey’s head-to-head games against the Los Angeles Rams (66 & 82) and he’s now gone over this number in 5 of his last 6 games against them. The Rams defense allowed the 5th most receiving yards to opposing running backs last season with an average of 38.2 per game.

Mike Evans & George Kittle are both expected to play but both players have dealt with early season injuries, and this will be rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling’s first game with the team. Brock Purdy loves to utilize CMC as a safety blanket, and he could clear this number on one busted play.

NFL Thursday Night Football Props Prediction: George Kittle San Francisco 49ers UNDER 3.5 Receptions (-125)

George Kittle just came off the PUP list two weeks ago as he dealt with an Achilles injury and Kyle Shanahan has stated that his workload will be closely monitored.

Jake Tonges proved to be a worth backup for Kittle at the tight end position in 2025 as he caught 34 of 46 targets for 293 yards and 5 touchdowns.

San Francisco also has plenty of other mouths to feed including Christian McCaffrey, Mike Evans and De’Zhaun Stribling. The Los Angeles Rams allowed the 10th fewest receptions to opposing tight ends in 2025 with an average of only 5.4 per game.

Kittle did manage to eclipse this number in both of his head-to-head games against the Rams in 2025 with 9 and 4 receptions, but he was heavily targeted while playing 96% and 90% of the snaps and that’s not happening tonight.
