Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears Predictions

  • Green Bay Packers -12.5 vs Chicago Bears
  • Total: 43 Points
  • Green Bay is just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games laying double digit points.
  • The under is 8-1 in Green Bay’s last nine games as a double-digit favorite.

The Bears go to Green Bay to take on the Packers, and the last time they played we heard Aaron Rodgers screaming “I Own You” to the Bears fans.  He’s 21-5 against Da Bears so, his statement seems accurate.  The bye week came at a good time for the Packers as they are dealing with injuries to both sides sides of the ball, and they are set up nicely as they will play five straight games against teams they will be favorites against.  The Bears have had Andy Dalton under center the last three games and they are 1-2 straight up and ATS in those games.  The spread is -12.5 and the total is 43, so will there be a chance to make some cheddar in Green Bay?

The Bears just aren’t a good team as their only win since October 10th is a Thanksgiving Day win against Detroit as it doesn’t seem to matter who’s quarterback, they just can’t score points.  With Dalton the last three games they scored 13, 14 and 22, and the 22 points was due to a classic garbage time TD.  The Cardinals had no problem taking away Darnell Mooney, who has been great the last two games with Dalton, and while Chicago ran for 112 yards on 27 carries, they were never really a threat to Arizona.

Green Bay has been a great team ATS going 10-2 this season, but 12.5 is a lot to lay here, and Green Bay only won by 10 earlier this season against Chicago.  That being said, I’m going to back the Packers, but I’m going to do it in the first half as I want to avoid the back door cover.  Green Bay is 4-1 ATS at home this season and Chicago is 2-4 on the road in the first half with one of the covers being against Detroit.  Chicago only averages 7.6 points in the first half, and like Aaron Rodgers said…he owns them.  This is a bad spot for Chicago as they showed against Arizona that they just can’t compete against the elite teams.  Rodgers and the Packers coming off a bye at home should get off to a fast start, and cover the first half spread.

Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears Analysis from The GoldSheet

Crashing Chicago is coming off a 33-22 Soldier Field loss to league-leading Arizona, making it 6 losses in 7 starts for a Bear team that has generated just 16 ppg and 287 ypg total offense on the road this year. Chicago has rushed for just 91 ypg over the past 3, although must note that the reinsertion of Andy Dalton at QB has thrown a bit of a life preserver to the flagging passing game, as he has thrown for 747 yds. with 5 TDs over his last 2½ games of work, but his 4 interceptions against Arizona were the crux of the Bear problem.

When Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers screamed “I still own you!” at the Chicago crowd back on Oct. 17 when he threw for 2 TDs and ran for another in a 24-14 Packer win, he wasn’t wrong. Green Bay has won 10 of the last 11 series meetings and the Pack are now 20-3 SU last 23 and 17-5 vs. the points last 22 facing the Bears. Green Bay could use some help in the offensive line (left tackle David Bakhtiari not expected back until he’s really needed (like the impending stretch against the Ravens, Browns and Vikings), but don’t think Rodgers will need help backing up his bluster against Bear side that’s just not right.

Chicago “under” 8-3 last 11 and Packers same way 7-2 last 9, plus “under” 4-2 last 6 in the series. One caution, as despite series dominance, Green Bay just 2-6 last 8 laying double digits, and “under” 8-1 last 9 as a DD favorite, so prefer the “under” a bit more than the Packers side.

Play Green Bay and the Under.
