Baltimore Ravens vs Cincinnati Bengals Predictions

  • Baltimore Ravens -6 vs Cincinnati Bengals
  • Total: 46.5 Points
  • Baltimore has won and covered the last three meetings in this series by nearly 32 points per game.
  • The under is 10-3 in Cincinnati’s last 13 games.
  • Baltimore is 5-1 against the spread in the Ravens’ last six games as a home favorite.
  • Cincinnati is 7-3-1 against the spread as an underdog with Joe Burrow at the helm..

The top two teams in the AFC North square off in the early window of Sunday’s Week 7 NFL schedule. In a key divisional showdown, the Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Burrow go head-to-head against hosts Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens (5-1) have won five straight games after dropping the season-opener to the Las Vegas Raiders in the first Monday Night Football event of the season.

The Bengals (4-2) enter Week 7 off a victory over Detroit and head to Baltimore a game back of the AFC North Ravens. The home team Ravens are a 6-point favorite at the time this preview went to press. Cincinnati has showcased a capable “bend but don’t break” defense that has resulted in a positive 2021 start.

Just over a year ago Burrow was in the fifth start of his rookie campaign when the Bengals and the Ravens squared off in the first of two 2020 games. The former Heisman winner and overall No. #1 draft pick was sacked seven times, the Bengals scored just three points and the result was an ugly 27-3 loss to Jackson and the Ravens.

The offseason additions of edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, defensive tackles B.J. Hill and Larry Ogunjobi, quality cover-backs Mike Hilton, Eli Apple, and Chidobe Awuzie have given the Cincinnati defense a push to the front of the line. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention former Ohio State first-round pick Vonn Bell who has experienced a resurgence in Cincinnati. Toss the name of second-year linebacker Logan Wilson into the new-look defensive mix and formidable is an understatement.

Baltimore is an AFC best 5-1 straight up, Cincinnati is 4-2 SU but neither of the division rivals have issued a return on investment to their backers with 3-3 ATS marks.

The Bengals have played to the Under in five of their first six games with the Ravens’ over-under results so far this season a level 3-3. Since the Bengals season-opening, 27-24 win against the Minnesota Vikings went north of the 47.5 point total Cincinnati has strung together five consecutive under the total results.

The early results of Joe Burrow’s rookie season when the former LSU Tiger quarterback was throwing the ball around the field the Bengals have become more balanced and the offseason adds to the defensive side of the ball and the early season metrics of the unit make them a play south of Sunday’s 46.5 over-under.

Baltimore Ravens vs Cincinnati Bengals Analysis from The GoldSheet

Lamar Jackson has helped Baltimore produce back-to-back 30-point games in victories over the Colts and Chargers and is dominating with both his arm and his legs. The Ravens have scored 27 or more in four of six matchups and just got back rookie Rashod Bateman to add to an arsenal of weapons that has temporarily lost Sammy Watkins due to injury. Mark Andrews has been the NFL’s most-effective tight end and Marquis “Hollywood” Brown is excelling and most importantly, staying healthy. The Ravens held Justin Herbert-led L.A. to just six points and opened the month giving up just seven points in Denver, but shutting down Joe Burrow and the Bengals is easier said than done. Cincinnati scored a season-best 34 points at Detroit and has seen rookie WR Ja’Marr Chase continue to thrive. RB Joe Mixon is healthier than he’s been in weeks, so even though the under has prevailed in five consecutive Bengals games, that has more to do with playing teams like the Bears, Steelers and Jaguars than the offense struggling.
