Washington Wizards vs Boston Celtics Betting Analysis
The Boston Celtics visit the nation’s capital for an Eastern Conference clash with the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.
The Wizards lost 114-104 north of the border against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday afternoon. The Celtics crushed the San Antonio Spurs 137-93 for their third straight victory.
This will be the third and final game in a regular season series that Boston leads 2-0 after winning both of their home games against Washington. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PST from Capital One Arena in Washington.
Wizards Ready For Offseason
The Washington Wizards fell to 33-42 on the season after losing their eighth game in their last ten tries in Toronto. The Raptors dominated the interior with a 53-45 rebounding edge while outscoring Washington 54-36 in the paint.
Kristaps Porzingis led his team in scoring with 26 points along with 6 rebounds. Deni Avdija added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists while Johnny Davis scored 15 points off the bench.
Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma and Monte Morris all missed the game and Beal & Kuzma have already been ruled out while Daniel Gafford joins Morris on the questionable list.
The Wizards now occupy the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference while sitting three games behind the Chicago Bulls for the final play-in spot. The Wizards rank 23rd in scoring with 112.9 points a game on 48.6% from the field.
Defense has been just as bad as they sit at 21st in defensive rating and 16th in defensive scoring with 113.8 points allowed per game.
Celtics Back On Track
The Boston Celtics improved to 52-23 on the season after winning their fifth game in six tries against the Spurs on Sunday.
Long distance shooting was a major factor as the Celtics shot 18-44 for 40.9% from beyond the arc while San Antonio shot only 8-36 for 22.2%. Jaylen Brown led all scorers and rebounders with an impressive 41 point, 13 rebound double-double.
Derrick White added 19 points and 8 rebounds while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 20 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds. The Celtics currently occupy the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference, two games behind the first place Bucks.
Boston sports a clean injury report, a breath of fresh air nowadays. The Celts rank 3rd in scoring with 118.1 points a game on 47.5% shooting.
They now sit at 4th in defensive rating and 4th in defensive scoring with only 111.7 points allowed per game.
Washington Wizards vs Boston Celtics Player Prop Prediction
The Boston Celtics are heavy road favorites with a spread set at 11 and a total set at 223. The Celtics are chasing down Milwaukee for the top seed in the Eastern Conference while Washington waves the white flag.
Beal and Kuzma have already been ruled out and there shouldn’t be a reason to push Morris or Gafford tonight. That could leave them with only Kristaps Porzingis as an available starter.
This has been the case over the last three or four games and Deni Avdija has taken advantage with 31, 38, 30 & 28 Points + Rebounds + Assists in his last four games, making 26.5 an intriguing PRA total for Avdija tonight.
Avdija has stacked stats in all three categories with 15, 21, 16 & 15 points, 9, 11, 8 & 10 rebounds and 7, 6, 6 & 3 assists.
The Celtics obviously have an elite defense but someone from Washington will need to post stats. Give me the over on Avdija!
