Warriors vs Wizards Analysis

After an off day for both of these teams on Sunday night, the Wizards travel to the west coast to take on the Warriors. The Warriors are on a three-game winning streak while the Wizards are on a three-game losing streak.

This is the first of two matchups between these two teams this season with the second game scheduled to be played in Washington in 13 days.

Klay on the Comeback

It was great to watch Klay Thompson have his best night on the floor since returning from injury. His health, and shooting, will be paramount for the Warriors down the stretch. The Warriors are one of the toughest teams to beat at home this season, where they are 28-7.

However, over their last ten games, the Dubs are just 4-6. They have fallen a half-game behind the Grizzlies for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference standings.

The Warriors are 6-6 against the spread as a home favorite of more than 9.5 points this season.

Needing some Wizardry on Defense

The Wizards are a ball club that is trending in the wrong direction late in the season. The Wizards are just 3-7 in their last ten games and allow opponents to score 118.2 points per game during this stretch.

As a road underdog this season, the Wizards are 9-13 against the spread. The Wizards are currently three games behind the Hornets for the final spot in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament.

Warriors vs Wizards Prediction

While neither team is playing great basketball at the moment, I am not focused on a side in this game. However, I do like the game to go over the total of 225.5 points.

Both the Warriors and the Wizards are averaging 116.3 points over their last ten games, but the Wizards’ defense has more holes than stoppers. I do not think this game should be close as it is a must-win for the Warriors as they look to lock down the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
