Phoenix Suns vs Sacramento Kings Betting Analysis

The Sacramento Kings visit the Footprint Center in Phoenix on Tuesday night for a Western Conference clash with the Suns. The Suns are coming off an easy 117-104 victory in Indiana on Friday night.

It took overtime for the Kings to prevail 133-128 against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. This will be the second of four games in a regular season series Phoenix currently leads 1-0 after winning 122-117 in Sacramento on November 28th.

Kings Defense Down

The Sacramento Kings upped their record to 32-24 on the season after beating the Mavericks in overtime.

They dominated the interior with a 50-43 rebounding edge while outscoring Dallas 74-46 in the paint. De’Aaron Fox led all scorers with 36 points on 12-23 from the field and 12-14 from the charity stripe.

Domantas Sabonis recorded a 22 point, 14 rebound double-double while Terrance Davis chipped in with 22 off the bench. Sacramento currently occupies the 3rd seed in the Western Conference, 7 games behind the first place Nuggets.

They are the leagues #1 scoring offense with 119.6 points per game on the 3rd best shooting percentage of 49.5%. Defense has been a different story as they sit at 23rd in defensive rating and 22nd in defensive scoring with 117.1 points allowed per game.

Recently the Kings defense has been even worse as they have allowed 120+ points in five straight games. Malik Monk is the only player listed on the current injury report and he will be out until after the All-Star break with an ankle injury.

Suns Ready to Add Durant After Break

The Phoenix Suns improved to 31-27 on the season after wrapping up a 4-1 road trip with a victory over Indiana. They dominated the Pacers on the glass with a 53-38 rebounding advantage.

De’Andre Ayton led all scorers and rebounders with a 22 point, 11 rebound double-double. Torey Craig also had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds while Chris Paul added 19 points and 9 assists.

Phoenix currently occupies the 4th seed in the Western Conference, 9 games behind first place Denver and two games behind the 3rd place Kings. The Suns rank well below average in scoring with only 112.7 points a game on 46.3% from the field.

Defense is still their calling card as they sit at 8th in defensive rating and 5th in defensive scoring with only 111.3 points allowed per game. Kevin Durant took part in his first practice session with the Suns on Monday and isn’t expected to return until after the All-Star break.

Phoenix Suns vs Sacramento Kings Player Prop Prediction

The Phoenix Suns enter this contest as 3 point home favorites with a total set at 233.5. This is an interesting matchup as these teams are separated by only two games in the standings and both would host first round playoff series if the season ended today.

While the Kings have been scoring at will, veteran forward Harrison Barnes has been ice cold. Barnes points prop is set at 14.5 and he has fallen short of that total in 8 of his last 10 games while landing on 16 & 23 in the other two games.

Barnes has taken single digit shot attempts and shot below 33.3% in 6 of his last 10 games. He three-point shot attempts are also declining and he has shot 3-16 19% from beyond the arc in his last five games.

The Phoenix Suns allow the LEAST points to opposing small forwards (20.1/game) and Barnes scored only 6 points against them in 28 minutes on November 28th.

Mikal Bridges is an elite defender who has left Phoenix but he wouldn’t be put on Barnes defensively regardless. Let’s go under on Barnes points tonight!!

Player Prop Prediction: Harrison Barnes Under 14.5 Points -113 Barstool

Meet the Author

Andy Lang has lived in Indianapolis his whole life, and like most people from the Hoosier State, he became fascinated with motor sports. That interest in motor sports turned into a desire to make money off the sport through fantasy contests and sports betting. Like most, he took his lumps when he first got started, but now he is one of the most respected NASCAR bettors in the industry. Andy has expanded that sports betting experience to become profitable in a number of other sports, transforming this interest from a side hobby to a major source of income.
