Philadelphia 76ers vs Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Analysis

The Cleveland Cavaliers put a seven game winning streak on the line in Philadelphia against the 76ers on Wednesday night. The 76ers won their third straight game 123-104 at home against the Houston Rockets on Monday. The Cavaliers beat the San Antonio Spurs 117-109 in a home game on Monday.

This will be the second of three games in a regular season series that Cleveland leads 1-0 after beating Philadelphia 113-85 on November 30th. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 as the first game of an ESPN Wednesday night doubleheader.

Cavaliers Come For 8th Straight Victory

The Cleveland Cavaliers improved to 38-22 on the season with their 7th straight victory over San Antonio on Monday. They outshot the Spurs 44-78 56.4% to only 43-85 50.6%.

Donovan Mitchell led all scorers with 41 points on 16-26 from the field and 6-13 from three-point land. Jarrett Allen recorded a 17 point, 11 rebound double-double while Darius Garland chipped in with 16 points and 7 assists.

The Cavaliers currently occupy the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference, four games behind the first place Celtics and one game behind the 76ers. Cleveland is the leagues 26th ranked scoring team with only 111.4 points a game on 48.8% from the floor.

Defense is their calling card as they sit at #1 in both defensive rating and defensive scoring with only 105.9 points allowed per game. The Cavaliers signed Danny Green to a one year contract on Wednesday. Ricky Rubio is the only player listed on the injury report and he is questionable with an illness.

Harden Shines Against Houston

The Philadelphia 76ers upper their record to 37-19 on the season after crushing Houston by 19 points on Monday. They outshot the Rockets 15-34 44.1% to only 6-24 25% from beyond the arc.

James Harden led his team in scoring and assists with a 28 point, 10 assist double-double. Joel Embiid added 23 points and 6 rebounds while Tyrese Maxey chipped in with 26 points and 6 assists off the bench.

Philadelphia sits at 3rd place in the Eastern Conference, three games behind Boston and 2.5 games behind Milwaukee. The Sixers are a middle of the pack team in scoring with 114.3 points a game on 48.3% shooting.

Philadelphia also relies on their defense as they rank 6th in defensive rating and 3rd in defensive scoring with only 110.4 points allowed per game.

Joel Embiid is getting the old Tom Brady treatment with a questionable tag on a daily basis. PJ Tucker is also questionable with a calf injury while Furkan Korkmaz is out for personal reasons.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Cleveland Cavaliers Expert Player Prop Prediction

This game is a virtual pick’em with the Cleveland Cavaliers favored by only 1.5 points and a total set at 216.5. The third and fourth placed teams in the Eastern Conference go head-to-head in their final game before the All-Star break.

The #1 and #3 ranked defenses matchup in a game that should be good for some unders. However, I’m looking at Evan Mobleys points over set at 15.5 with some juice.

Mobley has cleared this mark in 6 of his last 8 games while falling short in his last two games with 14 & 15 points. Mobley is listed as a center but falls more into the power forward spot with Jarrett Allen on the court.

The Sixers are a great defense but power forwards are the position they struggle with as they allow the 8th most points with 23+ per game.

Mobley posted 16 points against Philly in his lone appearance against them on November 30th. Let’s back Mobley on a very manageable number tonight at Wells Fargo.
