Expert NBA Props for Friday: Jeremiah Fears New Orleans Pelicans OVER 12.5 Points + Rebounds (-130)

Jose Alvarado has been traded to the New York Knicks and that opens the door for Jeremiah Fears to step up as a scorer.

When playing 15+ minutes without Alvarado but with the Pelican at full strength, Fears has cleared this line in 6/8 games while averaging 13.8 Points + Rebounds per game.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have allowed the 3rd most point to opposing points guards with 33.6 per game.

We have seen opposing PGs post amazing efforts recently including Immanuel Quickley (28), Ty Jerome (25 & 21), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (36) and Naji Marshall (24 w Brandon Williams 22 same game).

Minnesota has also allowed the 3rd highest shot frequency in the paint during the last 10 games and Fears has scored 56% of his points in that area.

Fears has already exposed the Timberwolves with 27 & 24 PR performances in two early December games. Now Alvarado is out of the picture and Jordan Poole is out of the Pelicans rotation.

Minnesota is favored by -9.5 but Fears should still come off the bench behind Trey Murphy and Fears has recorded 15+ PR in 15/17 games (including L5) that New Orleans has lost by double digits. The total is also 236.5 so there should be ample scoring opportunities.

Expert NBA Props for Friday: AJ Green Milwaukee Bucks UNDER 12.5 Points (-108)

AJ Geen has fallen short of this line in 8/9 games against teams that rank top 10 in above-the-break defense without Giannis Antetokounmpo in the mix while averaging only 6.8 points per game.

Green relies on his teammates to generate open looks for him and without Antetokounmpo on the court he averages -0.63 points less per 36 minutes.

Now Green faces a brutal matchup against the Indiana Pacers who rank #1 in above-the-break & catch-&-shoot defense and #2 in threes allowed.

The Pacers are much softer down low as they rank 28th in points in the paint. Green has faced Indiana twice this season with similar minutes & shot volume.

He scored only 6 points in a game without Giannis in December but 14 in a November game with Antetokounmpo on the court.

Green is coming off back-to-back friendly matchups where he scored 17 points against Chicago & 20 points against New Orleans, so this is a great spot to fade an inflated number.
