NBA Props for Wednesday: Jonathan Kuminga Atlanta Hawks UNDER 13.5 Points (-102)

Jonathan Kuminga has looked great in his first three games with the Atlanta Hawks as he’s scored 27, 27 & 20 points.

Despite that, the books have put out a 13.5-point line and part of that may be the fact that he’s seen very favorable matchups against Washington (twice) and Portland.

Kuminga thrives at the rim & in transition and the Trailblazers & Wizards are both horrible in defending these areas.

Now Kuminga has to deal with a Milwaukee Bucks with Giannis Antetokounmpo who rank 5th in points allowed in the paint & 9th transition defense.

Kuminga has fallen short of this line in 6/8 games against teams that rank above average in points allowed in the paint while averaging 12.4 points per game.

This feels like a great sell high spot as Kuminga will have to deal with Antetokounmpo & Myles Turner at the rim and the book seems to be in lockstep based on the line.

NBA Props for Wednesday: CJ McCollum Atlanta Hawks OVER 16.5 Points (-122)

We cashed in on CJ McCollum’s points over as he finished with 19 points against the Portland Trailblazers and he’s now covered this line in 6 of his last 8 games (16 once) and 53% of his games on the season.

Now McCollum has the opportunity to feast on a Milwaukee Bucks defense that has struggled with opposing guards as they rank 19th in points allowed to point guards and 23rd in points allowed to shooting guards.

In recent games, we have seen Payton Pritchard log 25 points (White 18 same game), Josh Giddey (20) and Jalen Brunson (27).

McCollum has covered this line in each of his last three and 4 of his last 5 head-to-head games against the Milwaukee Bucks including his only game as an Atlanta Hawk where he scored 17 points despite playing only 25 minutes in late January.

McCollum thrives on the perimeter where he is hitting 37% on catch-& shoot threes and the Bucks rank 12th in defending that area.

The Hawks are only favored -1.5 and we have a huge total of 231.5 so we should see a competitive game with plenty of scoring opportunities.
