NBA Props Picks for Wednesday: Cameron Payne Philadelphia 76ers UNDER 18.5 Points + Assists (-130)

Cameron Payne is coming off his best game of the season in a game against the Memphis Grizzlies as he finished with 32 points on a perfect 8-8 from long distance and 10 assists on 11 potential assists.

I don’t see Payne shooting a perfect 8-8 from beyond the arc especially against a Detroit Pistons defense that ranks 3rd in pull up defense.

The Pistons have also allowed the LEAST assists overall with 23.5 per game so I don’t see Payne logging double digit dimes again.

Detroit has allowed the 2nd fewest PA to opposing point guards with an average of only 31.3 per game. The Philadelphia 76ers have been decimated by injuries and that’s given Payne extra run, but he’s still fallen short of this line in 2/3 games when playing 25+ minutes.

It’s also worth noting that Payne has never eclipsed 16 PA in 12 career games against the Pistons while averaging 7.5 PA per game. Detroit is favored by -15.5 with a low total of 221.5 so there is a chance of a blowout limiting Payne’s minutes.

NBA Props Picks for Wednesday: Ajay Mitchell Oklahoma City Thunder OVER 18.5 Points + Rebound + Assists (-125)

Ajay Mitchell made a triumphant return on Monday night after missing nearly two months with an injury as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Denver Nuggets 129-126.

Mitchell crushed this line with 29 PRA across 29 minutes while posting a ridiculous 27% usage rate and shooting 56% on 16 shot attempts.

The 23-year-old guard has now covered this line in 8 of his last 9 games and 68% of his games on the season.

The Boston Celtics have an elite defense, but they have switched primarily to a man-to-man defense which has resulted in the 3rd highest pull-up rate during their last 10 games.

Opposing guards have had some impressive performances against Boston recently as Stephon Castle & De’Aaron Fox combined for 70 PRAs and James Harden & Donovan Mitchell combined for 75 PRAs.

The RA is a nice addition to this play as Mitchell becomes the pick-&-roll ballhandler when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on the bench.

When Mitchell has played 25+ minutes with SGA active but without Jalen Williams, he’s cleared this number in 9/11 games.
