NBA Props Picks for Tuesday: Tyler Herro Miami Heat OVER 20.5 Points (-121)

Tyler Herro thrived in two play-in games last season where he scored 38 points across 37 minutes against the Chicago Bulls and 30 points across 44 minutes against the Atlanta Hawks.

The game against Atlanta was an overtime game, but Herro did score 24 points in regulation. Now Herro gets another look at the Charlotte Hornets who he scored 20 & 33 points against in two head-to-head games this season.

The 20-point effort was a game where Herro only played 30 minutes due to a 30-point blowout. The Hornets defense did rank top 10 in points allowed to opposing guards on the season, but they struggled a bit down the stretch with Miles McBride scoring 21 points, Bones Hyland (18), Quenton Jackson (16), Payton Pritchard (28) and Tyrese Maxey (26).

In games with 35+ minutes this season, Herro has covered this line in 5/6 games (26.7/game) while landing on 18 points against an elite Boston Celtics defense in the lone game where he fell short. Herro should see that time tonight in a win or go home game scenario where he’s flourished in the past. 

NBA Props Picks for Tuesday: Jrue Holiday Portland Trail Blazers UNDER 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-130)

Jrue Holiday has fallen short of this line in 9/10 games when playing teams that are ranked below average in pace of play and top 25 in three-pointers allowed while averaging only 1.5 threes per game.

Now he’s playing a Phoenix Suns team that ranks 5th in three-pointers allowed to opposing point guards (2.9/game) and #1 in above-the-break threes allowed.

The Suns rank 23rd in pace of play and that’s reflected in the low total of 217. Phoenix also ranks 6th in threes made on pull up jumpers where Holiday does the majority of his damage.

Holiday has already fallen short of this line in both head-to-head games against the Suns while shooting 1/5 and 0/4 in the process.

The Trail Blazers are close to full strength with only Jerami Grant listed as questionable and Shaedon Sharpe has returned to action.

Players like Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara have taken on larger roles as scorers, and I fully expect Holiday to be focused on facilitating and playing high level defense against players like Devin Booker and Jalen Green.
