Mid-Season NBA Win Totals

As we come out of the All-Star break, we have teams fighting for playoff seeding and teams wanting to tank. This should give us some value in some win totals for the last part of the season. These lines are on FanDuel Sports Book as of Monday, February 21.

Golden State Warriors

Currently the Warriors have 42 wins, and the adjusted win total is 56.5. The Warriors have 23 games left, meaning they would need to go 15-8 to finish the season.

Golden State plays 11 teams with records below .500, and I like the under in this one. They are 6.5 games behind the Suns for the No. 1 seed, and they lost four out of five going into the break.

Draymond is still hurt, Klay Thompson has been inconsistent, and at some point the No. 1 seed is probably going to be out of reach. Memphis is right behind them, but the Warriors have Championship aspirations and there’s not much difference in the No. 2 or No. 3 seeds. They have many tough games against Utah, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Memphis, Denver, etc. Golden State under 56.5 wins is the way to go here.

Portland Trailblazers

The Trailblazers have 25 wins right now, and FanDuel posted their win total at 33.5, so they need to go 9-14 down the stretch, and I like them to get nine wins. Simons is breaking out, this team is playing with energy, and they won four straight coming into the All-Star break.

Coming out of the break they have a brutal schedule with games against Golden State, Denver, Phoenix Utah, etc, but they have a great schedule to end the year as they play a stretch of 11 games against bottom feeder teams including Houston twice and San Antonio twice. They have a chance to make the play-in tournament so don’t look for them to tank. Take Portland over 33.5 wins.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The T-Wolves have 31 wins this season, and have played well in certain spots that have impressed me, but this win total of 43.5 seems too high for me and I’ll take the under.

Minnesota would need to go 13-9 the rest of the way, and their schedule has some brutal spots. Their first four games out of the break are Memphis, Philly, Cleveland, Golden State and they play 13 of their last 22 games against playoff teams.

They are only three games above .500 this season, I don’t think they go four games over .500 as they are middle of the road on defensive efficiency, and 27th in rebounding. Take Minnesota under 43.5 wins.
