Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trail Blazers Predictions

  • Golden State Warriors -6.5 vs Portland Trail Blazers
  • Total: 225 Points
  • Portland is 1-10 against the spread in their last 11 road games.
  • Golden State is 21-5-1 against the spread dating back to the end of last season.

The Portland Trail Blazers (10-9, 6th in NBA – West) and the Golden State Warriors (16-2, 1st in NBA – West) are ready to get back to work after the Thanksgiving holiday after both were issued a hall pass to have turkey and stuffing with their families. The Warriors look to earn a sixth consecutive win while the Blazers are playing, intending to reverse the team’s 125-121 loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Golden State point guard Stephen Curry scored 25 points. The Warriors came out of the locker room at intermission and posted a 34-point third quarter to earn a 116-96 victory over the injury-riddled Philadelphia 76ers squad. The Kings point-man De’Aaron Fox scored 21 points. Under a new head coach, the seldom-used Marvin Bagley III under former coach Luke Walton connected on a clutch 3-pointer with 30 seconds remaining to extend the Portland Trail Blazers road struggles with a loss to the Kings Wednesday night.

Western Conference rivals take the hardwood inside the Chase Center in San Francisco for the first time this season. The three 2020 matchups between these two found Portland winning two of the three games. Friday night Association action on the west coast is scheduled to tip-off at 10:00pm ET inside Chase Center in San Fran’s Mission Bay neighborhood.

Portland Trail Blazers

Portland could record an away win in Sacramento, but the Kings edged them in a close game. On Wednesday night, the loss to the Kings stretched Portland’s road record to 1-8 on the season.

The Blazers are getting All-Star play from Jusuf Nurkic. The Portland center had a double-double in the first 10 minutes of the Wednesday night game in the Cali capital. Nurkic is averaging a dub-dup through 13 games. The consistency of Nurkic has been key to Blazers’ seven November wins. In Portland’s seven victories this month, Nurkic has had a double-double or was one rebound short in six of the seven games.

All-Star guard Dame Lillard has scored 20 points or more in nine straight games. Lillard is averaging 22.3 points and 8.1 assists. Backcourt partner CJ McCollum is averaging over two made 3-pointers per game in November.

The Blazers have the fifth-ranked offense in the league this season, averaging 110.9 points per game. However, the Blazers’ defense has surrendered 109.8 points across their last ten games. Portland allowed Sacramento to shoot 52.3 percent from the field in Wednesday’s loss.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors have won five straight for the second time this season. Golden State seeks a sixth straight overall win against Portland and their tenth home win in a row tonight.

Golden State leads the Western Conference in assists per game, averaging 29.4, with frontcourter Draymond Green averaging 7.6 dimes per contest. The play of Andrew Wiggins has been a big part of the Warriors’ 16-2 start to the season. The former Kansas Jayhawk is averaging 21.6 points over the last ten games.

The 9-1 Warriors have the league’s best Net Rating across each team’s last ten games. Golden State is averaging 115.2 points while surrendering an average of 101.9 points per game. Golden State shot over 50 percent from the field, which included 15 three-point makes in Wednesday night’s win over the 76ers.

Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trail Blazers Injury Report

Portland Trail Blazers
Anfernee Simons (illness) has been ruled out.

Golden State Warriors
Klay Thompson (Achilles) has been ruled out.
Andre Iguodala (knee) is out.
James Wiseman (knee) is out.

Stepping in front of the Warriors and their streaks, both personal and team-related, is not good business. It certainly isn’t friendly to the win and loss columns of the teams’ record.

Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trail Blazers Analysis from The GoldSheet

Despite the fact that Phoenix has won 14-straight, it’s Golden State that owns the best record in the league and has a significant net efficiency rating edge over the Suns during the course of that Phoenix winning streak. Warrior G Steph Curry is scoring 28 ppg and the team is hitting 48% of their shots while holding foes to just 98.4 points per 100 possessions in their last 14 games. That, without the services of all-star G Klay Thompson, who should be back very soon. Warriors in a bit of a revenge mode potentially in this match against CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard, whose Trail Blazers have won four of the last five in this series, but those recent meetings saw the Warriors injured and not in a position to argue. See the Warriors coming out with a bit more intensity in this match. Play Golden State.
