Expert NBA Player Props for Thursday: Bennedict Mathurin, Pacers OVER 14.5 Points + Rebounds (-112)

Bennedict Mathurin has covered this PR line 3 of the first 5 games of the NBA Finals while averaging 16 PR per game and his only two misses came in games where he played less than 20 minutes due to foul trouble.

That includes Game 5 where Mathurin managed to log 15 PRs despite a horrendous 2-11 shooting performance.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been committing a ton of fouls in this series with 19+ in every game including the last two games where they set series highs with 26 & 24 fouls.

Mathurin has been a player who has taken advantage of these fouls with an average of 4.4 made free throws per game and 7+ attempts in 3 of 5 games.

This line is playable regardless of Tyrese Haliburton’s status but if Haliburton is limited or doesn’t play, Mathurin would be basically guaranteed 25+ minutes while being inserted into the starting lineup. With the uncertainty surrounding Haliburton, this is still a very safe play.

Expert NBA Player Props for Thursday: Chet Holmgren, Thunder Double Double (+140)

Chet Holmgren has recorded two double doubles in this series and both of those came at Gainbridge Fieldhouse where he scored 20 and 14 points to go along with 10 and 15 rebounds.

Holmgren has scored double digit points in 3 of the last 4 games while landing on 9 in Game 5 due to a horrible 4-15 shooting performance in a game where he didn’t log a single free throw attempt (6 & 9 in two road games).

The rebounds are obviously the more challenging leg, and Holmgren has been a beast on the glass during each of the last three games with 10+ rebounds and 17+ rebound chances in every game.

The Thunder have stuck to the same defensive scheme; the Pacers haven’t figured it out and Holmgren has been able to work his way to the paint even when defending Myles Turner.

Haliburton being banged up will lead to fewer actions involving Turner and it will leave more weakside chances for Holmgren.

Over the last two games, 35% of Holmgrens rebounds have been on the offensive end of the court and his ability to create second chance opportunities has been an X-factor for OKC.

Holmgren himself has scored 4 and 6 second chance in the last two games as he’s taken advantage of being the best rebounder on the floor outside of Isaiah Hartenstein.

The Pacers will be firing away shots in an elimination game and Holmgren will have plenty of chances in both of these categories while playing 35+ minutes.
