Charlotte Hornets vs Denver Nuggets Analysis

The Hornets will host the Denver Nuggets on Monday night at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte. The Nuggets are in a rough patch, losing five of their last nine but did win their last game 113-107 over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Meanwhile the Hornets have won seven of their last eight, including their last game 119-100 over the Brooklyn Nets. Charlotte won 115-107 in Denver over the Nuggets back in early December.

Charlotte Hornets vs Denver Nuggets Team Totals

The Denver Nuggets are favored by 3.5 points with a total of 233.5, setting the Hornets team total at 115.5 and the Nuggs at 117.5 points. Both teams have remained consistent with scoring, while their scoring over their last ten games is similar to their season.

This is an important game for both teams in terms of playoff seeding, so I’m expecting both to continue to push to score. I also see a lot of advantages with Denver, most importantly Nikola Jokic. I’m going to take a shot at the Nuggets winning a shootout and take their team total over.

Recommendation: Denver Nuggets’ Team Total Over 117.5 Points

Charlotte Hornets vs Denver Nuggets Player Props

I’ve mentioned this before, but I find it near impossible to pick Charlotte Hornets player props being that you never know who will have the big game between Miles Bridges, Lamelo Ball and Terry Rozier. I would lean Miles Bridges tonight, but none of them had a big effort last time they played Denver.

The Denver Nuggets don’t have this issue. Nikola Jokic leads the team in all three categories of points, rebounds and assists on a regular basis. Sometimes he literally leads the team in each and every category of note. Jokic had a monster effort last time he played Charlotte with 29 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists for an amazing 55 points + rebounds + assists.

Mason Plumlee and the Hornets get abused by versatile bigs in the paint on a regular basis and none are more equipped then Jokic. His points + assists + rebounds line is set at 47.5 and while it’s high I’m going over.

Recommendation: Nikola Jokic Over 47.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

• Jokic 20+ Points
• Jokic 11+ Rebounds
• Jokic 10+ Assists (triple double yes)

I’m going to keep it simple here and take a shot with Nikola Jokic at big plus money. If you take 20+ points, 11+ rebounds and 10+ assists (or a triple double yes) it comes out +210. That’s a wonderful payout based on his and the Hornets track records. Put a sprinkle on this and back it with Jokic over 47.5 points + rebounds + assists.
