Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets Betting Analysis
The reeling Nets go to Boston to take on the Celtics, and it looks like both teams will have full squads tonight.
The Nets are playing 7 out of 8 games on the road in this stretch which doesn’t bode well for them as they have lost six straight road games.
They are technically still in the playoffs, but since this roster is so different it’s going to be difficult for them to hold on to that spot. The Celtics are in a dogfight with Milwaukee for the #1 seed so they have as much motivation as anyone to win games.
Brooklyn Waving Bye Bye To The Playoffs
Brooklyn has lost six of seven games as they don’t have a true center or point guard, but they have a lot of wings that do similar things and that doesn’t seem to be working.
There isn’t a leader on this team, and their defense has really been bad. Since Kyrie and Durant left, they have the 4th worst defensive rating in the league, and they’ve allowed 142, 118, 129 and 131 in their last four games to opponents.
That makes this matchup against Boston extremely difficult. This team is in such a strange position as they’re still in the playoffs, but this roster is not a playoff roster by any stretch, but it’s not a good conference and the teams behind them are not scaring anyone. Very odd situation I don’t think I’ve seen before.
Boston Fighting For #1
It’s Boston and Milwaukee on top of the East, and Boston has navigated some recent injuries quite nicely as Brown is being productive despite the face fracture, and Smart is back in the lineup after returning from the ankle injury.
The only recent losses for Boston have been to Milwaukee and to red hot New York. Boston is 3-7 to the under and 7-3 ATS in the last 10.
Boston doesn’t really blow anyone out these days as they have only won by over 11 points one game out of the last 11 games, and that was to a bottom three team in Detroit so laying this big of a spread has not been profitable.
Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction
I just like the way Boston is playing defense right now. Holding Cleveland to 113, New York to 109 and Philly to 107 in their last three games is impressive as their offenses are way better than Brooklyn’s.
They have the 3rd lowest pace in the league the last 10 games, I think Boston suffocates Brooklyn and slows the game down en route to a game that does not feature a lot of points. Take the under.
