Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics Betting Analysis
The Boston Celtics return to Atlanta for Game 6 of their first round playoff series against the Hawks on Thursday evening.
The Hawks overcame a 10 point deficit entering the 4th quarter and survived with a 119-117 victory after Trae Young drained a long distance three-pointer with 2.8 seconds remaining in the contest.
Now the series shifts back to Atlanta with Boston still holding a 3-2 series edge. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 PM EST/5:30 PST from State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Ice Trae
The Atlanta Hawks bounced back late in Game 5 to survive and return home looking to even up the series at 3-3. Trae Young led the game in both scoring and assists with 38 points and 13 dimes.
Young scored 16 points in a frantic 4th quarter that included the the nail in the coffin three-pointer with only seconds remaining.
Dejounte Murray was suspended for the game due to making contact with an official after Game 5. Clint Capela led his team with 7 rebounds while John Collins added 22 points. The Hawks ranked 3rd in scoring with 118.4 points a game on 48.3% from the field.
Defense was a struggle as they ranked 26th in defensive scoring with 118.1 points allowed per game. Murray will return to action on Thursday night and there are no other players listed on the injury report.
Celtic Pride
The Boston Celtics have another chance to eliminate the Atlanta Hawks and advance to the second round after blowing a golden opportunity on Tuesday.
The Celtics dominated for three quarters and outscored Atlanta 60-38 in the paint. But it was all for not as they were outscored 37-25 in the 4th quarter. Jaylen Brown led the Celts in scoring with 35 points on 15-23 from the floor along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
Jayson Tatum added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists while Derrick White chipped in with 18 points. Boston ranked 4th in scoring during the regular season with 117.9 points a game on 47.5% shooting.
Their defense improved as the season moved along and they now rank 5th in defensive scoring with 111.4 points allowed per game. The Celtics sport a clean injury report outside of Danilo Gallinari who has yet to play in the 2022-23 campaign.

The Boston Celtics enter Game 6 favored by 6 points with a total set at 232. The Celtics defense will be focused on slowing down Trae Young after his epic performance in Game 5.
Prior to the suspension, Dejounte Murray was quietly clearing stuffing the stat sheet in this series with 25.5 points, 7.25 rebounds and 5.75 assists per game.
His Points + Rebounds + Assists total is set at 33.5 and Murray has surpassed that mark in all four games during this series with 38, 36, 41 & 38 PRAs.
Murray will be fired up for this elimination game after being suspended. Young will surely garner extra attention that will tie up Marcus Smart and others while Murray will again slip through the cracks and record 34+ PRAs.
