Xfinity 500 Track: Martinsville Raceway

The Xfinity 500 takes place at Martinsville Speedway, NASCAR’s shortest track at just 0.526 miles, a paperclip-shaped oval known for some of the most physical and aggressive racing on the schedule.

Martinsville features 12 degrees of banking in the corners, with a unique racing surface made of asphalt straightaways and concrete turns, forcing drivers to rely heavily on braking, throttle control, and mechanical grip.

The extremely tight corners and narrow racing groove make passing difficult, often requiring drivers to use the bumper to move competitors out of the way.

With 500 laps covering 263 miles, drivers spend much of the race battling heavy traffic, managing brake temperatures, and trying to maintain track position.

Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, William Byron, and Christopher Bell have all shown strong performances at Martinsville in recent years, where patience, short-track experience, and the ability to navigate traffic are major advantages.

Pit strategy and late-race restarts can completely change the running order, especially when drivers are willing to get aggressive with a trip to Victory Lane on the line.

The Xfinity 500 is traditionally one of NASCAR’s most intense playoff races, where championship hopes can be made or destroyed in a single corner, and the combination of short-track chaos, tempers, and high stakes makes Martinsville one of the most entertaining tracks in NASCAR.

Xfinity 500 Top 5 Prediction: Joey Logano +100

Logano has been good at smaller tracks finishing 6th at Phoenix, 1st at Bristol, 1st at Richmond, and even 3rd at Martinsville earlier in the year. He has 3 Top 5 finishes in the last 7 races here.

Logano had a crazy wreck last week knocking him to 5th in the playoff standings, he’ll have to go for broke in this race. They know how to set up the car, he likes this track, he’ll be aggressive, I like the even money on this one.
