Currently ranked No. 4, Blaydes has been a mainstay in the top-5 of the division while No. 9 Daukaus looks to bounce back from his first UFC loss.

Curtis Blaydes vs Chris Daukaus Analysis
Both men come into this matchup looking for a substantial victory to put themselves in prime position for a possible No. 1 contender fight. Considering current champion Francis Ngannou is expected to be out 9+ months due to injury, the heavyweight division has not been this open in quite a while.
An interim title fight seems imminent for this summer, providing an opportunity for the rest of the top 10 to compete for the belt. Blaydes is coming off a decision victory over ranked contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Daukaus, on the other hand, is coming off his first loss inside the octagon, ending his four-fight win streak to start his UFC career. Daukaus suffered a first round TKO loss at the hands of Derrick Lewis in December.
Philly’s Finest
Chris Daukaus comes into this fight as a late-blooming heavyweight contender at 32 years of age. Chris Daukaus, a cop in Philadelphia, recently put his police career on hold to pursue greatness as a fighter and prove himself a top-10 heavyweight.
Daukaus has shown tremendous boxing ability, which stems from his foot speed and punching speed that can cause problems for everyone. All four of his UFC victories have come via TKO/KO, yet when faced with a steep step up in competition, he feels pretty short being handed a KO loss at the hands of UFC knockout king Derrick Lewis.
Daukaus’s chance of bouncing back seems slim as a +310 underdog against arguably a more skilled fighter than Lewis in Curtis Blaydes.
Razor Blaydes
Curtis Blaydes is one of the most accomplished heavyweights of recent memory to have not challenged for UFC gold with just three losses over his 14-fight UFC run, including victories over Junior Dos Santos, Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
This weekend, Blaydes can put himself in the title conversation with a statement victory over Chris Daukaus. He will use his world-class wrestling advantage to get this fight to the ground while looking to land big shots. Not to to be messed with on the feet either, Blaydes has some ridiculous power, even if the technique isn’t sound.
Curtis Blaydes vs Chris Daukaus Prediction
This is a very tough fight to have much confidence in. In my opinion, the moneyline is fair and warranted, but the inconsistency from Blaydes makes me extremely hesitant to ride him or fade him. Instead, I’ll factor in the wrestling and grappling predict that this fight will go longer than the oddsmakers are suggesting it will.
