Belal Muhammad vs Vicente Luque Analysis
Vicente Luque won that first match with an opening round knockout and has been installed as the -170 favorite in Saturday night’s rematch. Since that fight, Belal Muhammad has put up a 10-1 (1 NC) record inside the octagon, including wins over the likes of Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia.
Vicente Luque has also done fantastic work of late, picking up back-to-back first-round submission victories, including one being over former welterweight king Tyron Woodley. The winner of this fight will undoubtedly place themselves in a title eliminator opportunity inside this stacked division.
Remember The Name
Belal Muhammad is the underdog of the division, and he had to fight for his UFC career early after getting off to a 1-2 start in the big leagues. Saturday will be the eighth time Muhammad has found himself the betting underdog inside the octagon.
It’s a spot he’s welcomed at times thus far, posting a record of 3-3 (1NC) as a UFC underdog. Belal’s bread and butter has been his world-class cardio that allows him to push a ridiculous pace and put his opponents on their back foot trying to defend his takedown and striking attempts. He’ll be looking to put these weapons to good use this Saturday as he seeks redemption.

Vicente’ The Silent Assasin’ Luque has been anything but silent since joining the UFC in 2015, having earned nine $50K bonuses for Performance and Fight of the Night honours.
Luque has shown to be an extremely well-rounded martial artist who can not just compete but finish a fight on both the feet and the mat with his world-class skills, to go along with toughness you cant teach. He’ll be looking to put the Belal Muhammad chapter behind him while trying to replicate the RD1 KO performance he put on six years ago.

This is a very intriguing fight, both men are on insane runs of late, and both will be highly motivated entering the octagon. But it’s tough for me not to look the way of Muhammad in this one and, in particular, this prop as it’s his most likely path to victory.
