UFC Fight Night Undercard Predictions

Jandiroba (+170) vs Suarez (-178)

This is a matchup between two wrestlers, but I think Jandiroba has a legitimate opportunity to pull off the upset. Suarez really doesn’t want to strike.

Her entire game revolves around getting  takedowns, establishing control, and keeping opponents on the ground. Jandiroba isn’t a great  striker herself, but I think she’s the better fighter on the feet.

Suarez has dealt with numerous injuries throughout her career, and she’s starting to slow down. Her cardio has also been  questionable, particularly in the third round.

If Jandiroba can defend enough takedowns and  force Suarez to work, I expect her to have the advantage late. I think Jandiroba wins the third round, and she only needs to find one of the first two to win the fight. Jandiroba at +170 is the underdog pick.

Grant (+233) vs Smith (-245)

I keep picking Grant at plus money, and he continues to deliver more often than not. He’s getting older and has definitely lost some speed, but he’s still a physical fighter who can strike, land damaging leg kicks, and stay right in his opponent’s face. He knows how to make fights uncomfortable, and that veteran experience continues to pay off.

Smith is a good young fighter with plenty of potential, but there are still some questions about his  cardio and overall development. He likes to wrestle and get takedowns, but he was taken down  himself in his last fight.

His striking is solid, and having a father who fought professionally for years gives him access to excellent training and advice. However, I don’t think he’s quite ready for this step up in competition. Grant has the experience and physicality to make this a difficult fight for him. Grant at +233 is the pick in a veteran performance.

Ko (-488) vs Turman (+456)

This is a pretty easy pick for me. Ko is the better fighter everywhere, particularly with his intelligent wrestling, takedowns, and ability to establish control on the ground. He does an  excellent job recognizing opportunities and putting opponents in positions where they can’t  generate much offense.

Turman has major weaknesses in his game. His striking defense is poor, he doesn’t offer much offensive power, and his conditioning is questionable. In his last fight, he looked slow after the opening round before completely falling apart and getting finished.

He also missed significant time because of injuries, and his return ended in a submission loss. I don’t see anything in Turman’s game that should give Ko serious problems. Ko is the easy pick.

Elekana (+233) vs Fernando (-245)

Fernando has an excellent record and has shown some impressive striking ability. He can occasionally get outworked, but his leg kicks are effective, and I thought his striking looked  particularly sharp in his last fight. He has the tools to do real damage when he can keep the fight standing.

Elekana has a solid wrestling game and is coming off two straight submission victories. However, his striking defense leaves a lot to be desired, and I think that’s going to be a problem  here.

I expect Fernando to defend enough takedowns to keep this fight in his preferred range, where he should have a significant advantage with his striking. Fernando at -245 is the pick.

Petroski (+270) vs Kondratavičius (-285)

Petroski has lost three straight, and the weaknesses in his game have become increasingly obvious. His striking is poor, his cardio isn’t particularly good, and while his best work comes on  the ground, he hasn’t been able to consistently get his wrestling going. Without that ground control, he doesn’t have many ways to win fights.

Kondratavičius is a powerful striker who is coming off a fairly boring victory where much of the  fight was spent against the fence. I thought he looked a little nervous in his UFC debut, but the  striking ability and power are clearly there.

If he can keep this fight standing and avoid getting controlled on the ground, he should have a significant advantage. I think he’ll be much more comfortable this time around and make Petroski pay on the feet. Kondratavičius at -285 is the pick.

Silva (-150) vs Fernandes (+138)

This should be a very competitive fight. Silva has lost two straight, but those losses came against high-level competition. She’s a strong, physical fighter who can be effective in close exchanges, although she has shown some vulnerability to takedowns and being controlled on the ground.

Fernandes is probably the better striker in this matchup, and I think that’s where her opportunity lies. If she can establish her striking early, land clean shots, and soften Silva up, she should be  able to build momentum and win rounds.

Silva’s physicality is a concern, but I like Fernandes’ chances if she can keep the fight standing and make this a striking contest. Fernandes at +138 is the slight underdog pick.

Souza (-156) vs Parsons (+150)

Parsons hasn’t fought since 2023, so there’s a tremendous amount of uncertainty about what version of him we’re going to see. He’s always been a fearless brawler who doesn’t mind absorbing shots to land his own, and that aggressive style can make fights extremely unpredictable.

Souza is tall and doesn’t move particularly well, but his long reach allows him to work behind his  jab and control distance. That’s going to be important against someone who wants to turn the  fight into a brawl.

Parsons is the wild card here. If he comes out aggressively and forces Souza  into uncomfortable exchanges, he could completely disrupt Souza’s game plan. I think there’s a real opportunity for Parsons to make this an ugly, chaotic fight and steal the win. Parsons at +150 is the underdog pick.

Delano (-100) vs Magomedov (-108)

This should be a fun fight between two solid strikers. Both guys have the ability to be effective on the feet, but I think Magomedov has a slight speed advantage and offers a little more with his  ground game. That additional versatility could make the difference in a close matchup.

Delano has excellent cardio, and if this fight reaches the third round, I think he’ll have a good  opportunity to take over late. He’s capable of maintaining his pace and staying active when  opponents start slowing down.

However, I expect Magomedov to have enough success early with his speed and grappling to build a lead on the scorecards. Delano should make it competitive down the stretch, but I think Magomedov does just enough. Magomedov at -108 by close decision is the pick.

Schmid (+300) vs Nakamura (-317)

Schmid is only 4-3 as a professional, and I think he’s getting this UFC opportunity largely  because the event is taking place in his home country of Australia. He doesn’t move particularly well on the feet, his striking is basic, and he doesn’t offer much in terms of dangerous offense. I  just don’t see the skill set necessary to compete consistently at this level.

Nakamura moves much better, does a good job staying out of danger, and appears to be the more  skilled fighter overall. The concern is that he hasn’t faced particularly strong competition, so it’s difficult to know how those skills will translate.

We’ve had success fading lower-level Asian  fighters who have struggled making the transition to the UFC, so that’s something I have to consider. Still, Nakamura looks significantly better than Schmid. Nakamura is the pick, but I’m not betting him at -317.

Cachoeira (+400) vs Milošević (-426)

This looks like an easy win for Milošević. Cachoeira is 1-5 in her last six fights, and her decline has been obvious. She’s slow, lacks athleticism, and outside of landing a surprise knockout punch, I don’t see an area where she has a meaningful advantage.

Milošević has very good striking and a serviceable ground game, which should be more than enough in this matchup. I expect her to establish control on the feet early, land the cleaner shots, and use that striking advantage to dictate the rest of the fight.

Her physicality should also be a  major factor against an opponent who struggles with speed and movement. I don’t see Cachoeira  having the tools to keep this competitive. Milošević is the easy pick in what should be a dominant performance.

Raposo (+213) vs Degli (-223)

Degli is coming off Contender Series, and I think he’s already UFC-ready. He’s a complete fighter with excellent striking, legitimate knockout power, and a fantastic ground game. He can  win fights in multiple ways, and I don’t see many weaknesses in his overall skill set.

Raposo has won two straight, but both fights were extremely close, and I’m not even convinced  he deserved the decision in his last appearance. He moves well on the feet, but he doesn’t have elite skills in any particular area.

He can be hit in striking exchanges and controlled on the  ground, which are major concerns against someone as well-rounded as Degli. I think Degli has a significant advantage everywhere this fight goes. Degli at -223 is the pick, and I expect a  dominant performance.

Petersen (-156) vs Lorenço (+150)

Petersen has been finished in each of his last three losses, and that’s become a clear pattern.  When he loses, he tends to get stopped rather than survive to the final bell. He can beat terrible  fighters, but whenever the competition improves, he struggles to handle the step up.

Lorenço is a straightforward knockout artist. He isn’t particularly complicated with his offense, but he throws hard leg kicks and big punches with the intention of doing damage.

Petersen has a wrestling background, but he doesn’t use it consistently enough to make me confident he’ll take  advantage of that potential edge.

If this turns into a striking fight, I think Lorenço has an excellent chance of hurting him. At plus money, I’m willing to take that shot. Lorenço at +150 by finish is the pick.

UFC Fight Night Main Event: Cortes-Acosta (-195) vs Walker (+165)

This looks like a fight between two heavyweights who are going to spend most of their time at  distance, exchanging jabs and occasionally working in the clinch.

Over five rounds, I expect a  pretty boring fight, with both guys trying to manage their cardio while avoiding the big shot that  could end the night. Cortes-Acosta hasn’t looked particularly good in his last two fights, and I’m not convinced either fighter has the conditioning to maintain a strong pace over 25 minutes.

With  so much uncertainty surrounding the cardio and neither guy likely to take many chances, this  could turn into a slow, low-volume striking match. No strong side here. I expect a cautious, potentially boring five-round fight.
