We just watched Betts smash two home runs in a favorable historical matchup against Brandon Pfaadt and he’s 3-7 (.429) with a home run and a double against Griffin Canning.

Canning has been really sharp this season but he has failed to pitch deep into games and that will give Betts cracks at a New York Mets bullpen that has struggled a bit recently.

Betts has done better against right-handed pitching this season with a .279 batting average compared to a .227 batting average against southpaws.

Betts is in an enviable position in the Dodgers lineup as he bats behind Shohei Ohtani and in front of Freddie Freeman and he’ll be guaranteed a full nine innings of at-bats while playing on the road at the spacious Citi Field.
