Pitcher Prop Bets No. 1: Jordan Hicks (SF) Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-115; DraftKings)

Jordan Hicks has cleared this number in just two of his last five starts, and he has a tough strikeout matchup today against the Astros. The Astros have a 21.6% K rate against right-handed pitching over their last 14 games, and Hicks is in just the 34th percentile for chase rate and the 40th for whiff rate.

The Astros lineup becomes more strikeout-heavy without Kyle Tucker, but this is still a good matchup for this team. The Astros swinging strike rate and chase rate are currently both higher than their season-long numbers, but we expect regression in a good way for this offense.

Pitcher Prop Bets No.2: Bryan Woo (SEA) Under 6.5 Strikeouts (-140; BetMGM)

Bryan Woo is coming off a six-strikeout game against the Athletics, but that has pushed this number way too high. Woo has only cleared this number once this season, and that was on 5/21. His last start was against an A’s team he dominated, and he still did not have seven or more strikeouts.

Woo is in the 34th percentile for K rate, the 21st for chase rate, and the 19th for whiff percentage. The White Sox’s current strikeout metrics are poor against right-handed pitchers, but Woo is not a dominant K pitcher and does not pitch deep into games. With a pitch count that stays around 85, it will be tough for him to ring up seven White Sox.
